Who told her that?

USCIS. She filed her application online. She got an email from them saying they received the application and the expected processing time was 22 months

I hope that's true. We live fairly close to downtown Minneapolis :) They're not zipping along with the I-751's though. We filed that in Oct. of 2017 and still waiting... We went and got an I-551 stamp on Monday because her extension letter would expire next month. The woman there told us it's taking so long for 10 year green cards because there's only a couple places in the US that can print them and priority is given to people that are new immigrants. People that already have green cards can use extension letters and I-551 stamps instead of a green card. So maybe it's not their fault?

Often they quote the worst time (93% are done by this time) but many are actually processed much faster. Use the spreadsheet to get a handle on current processing times. They have in fact improved somewhat since a year ago when I got mine by about 30+ days. They said on myUCSIS that mine would take 21 months but it took closer to 14 months. So there is hope that yours will be faster. Cheers.

You probably have the google spreadsheet link, but here it is again ->> https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1q2WooojyQKVxbF_N6bxO8muQM8QjybXZVv5QzSqDWAk/edit#gid=794661185

I feel badly for those of you stuck in this ROC abyss. If I'm ever slightly annoyed about the naturalization taking so long, I am reminded that our ROC only took 5 months with no interview.

So where is the questionaiire supposed to be completed? Do you have to fill out the questionnaire and sign in front of the USCIS officer or can you do it at home right before?

Also is there a lot of parking available at the St Paul River Centre?

I got my interview date scheduled for July 31st. Filed on September 19th 2018.

It is based on 3 year marriage rule.

So what has other people taken with them during the interview besides the original documents that were submitted during application. New bank statements? New bills? Did the IO officer specifically ask to see a certain document?

I had my oath ceremony last week at the Federal Building in St Paul, with about 45 other new citizens.

We were told to arrive at 8.35 am, which we did, and the ceremony started at 9.15 am.  Prior to the ceremony, the League of Women Voters handed out voter registration forms and helped people fill them in.

For the ceremony, we started with the national anthem, USCIS formally advised the judge that we could be citizens. We then took the oath.  The judge made some remarks, we took the pledge and they showed a short video to "America the Beautiful".  They handed out the certificates, and we were able to line up & get a photo with the judge.

Note - we didn't realize when taking the oath that this was the very moment we became citizens, so if you have family/friends videoing the ceremony, make sure they get all of this.  My husband stopped because all you could see was my back.

All over, it was about 13.5 months from submission to oath.

Good luck to everybody else, and I'll see you at the ballot box in 2020!

Hubby had his ceremony today at the River Centre. 525 people were naturalized! It was a big group. Now just to figure out which social security office we have to go to to update his social security record. They did say you need to wait 10 days or so. I hope we don't need to go to the one downtown that we had to go to when he got his first SS card.

I had my ceremony last Thursday and they said to check with Social Security in about 2 weeks to confirm that the status has been updated. I don't have to do anything.
