Depends on your type of application.. if you are doing it based on 3 years and ROC together, then yes.. my case was GC based on 5 years, so i went alone and that was fine.

They will most likely mention this explicitly in your appointment letter.

How about taking kids along?  Has anybody tried to take kids along to the interview?  I was going to just wait outside with the kids while my wife is in the interview, but if we both need to be there based on the 3 year rule...

Our kids will be 6 and 2 around that time and we are new to the area so don't really have any good option for babysitter for a long day, as it will be at least a 8 hour trip with the driving times.

After reading yesterday, the spouse is not required to be present in N400 interview (regardless of 3 year marriage or 5 years marriage). The spouse is required for interview in the (Lifting conditional status application) where the officer will interview both, the husband and the wife. Good luck.

I don't know about kids because I sent mine alone to his 5 year based one, but MSP has a few drop in daycare options. You might need to fill out some paperwork beforehand, but do some googling and give them a call. I know Minnesota has some different rules regarding paperwork for daycare - we use a drop in daycare in ND, so the rules are more lax.

I got an interview today. I passed the civic and English test. However, the officer give me a notice number N-652 marked with (the decision can not be taken yet about your case)? The officer said he will recommend my application for approval but he will need to review some papers first. A notification ding sound keep popping up on his screen whenever he click submit (I guess). Any body have similar situation, please advise.

Is there anyone who have this notification before? Please help

I will write detailed post about what happened in the interview today.

Thanks everyone

Hello everyone,

Here is my experience today with a N400 interview at Saint Paul office.

I arrived 2 hours early just because I wanted to secure a parking place. I have to admit that it was much easier than the last time I went there (one and half year ago). I parked in the same building. It is expensive parking, but it is super convenient and 50 feet from my car to elevators to the 7th floor where USCIS office is.

If you are coming from outside Saint Paul or Minneapolis, try this app on your phone. in my opinion it is a must have to look for parking in that area. here is a link to the app (website) to the parking I parked in today. Feel free to play around and calculate your total stay fees.

https://en.parkopedia.com/parking/underground/marquette_plaza/55401/minneapolis/?arriving=201906102000&leaving=201906102200

I checked in early and the officer said that he will take the papers from me but they will likely call me only hen my time come. I sat there for like 2 hours and they did not call me until 10 minutes after my scheduled time. So if I showed up on time, I wold have wait only 10 minutes. But as I said, it was parking and road constructions stuff. Better be safe than sorry.

The officer called my name and walked with me to the office. He was friendly guy and we chatted about the travel and driving there (I drove from Rochester, MN). We did the oath about telling the truth and I sat down. He went over my application on the computer screen asking me random question about my me, my wife, my kid.....etc. Then we went over (Yes, No) questions. He asked me the civic questions (He has them randomized on the PC screen).

Who is the president

Who wrote the declaration of independence

What did Martin Luther King Junior do

I can't remember the rest. Very simple easy questions from the civic test booklet. The the English reading and writing was on the screen. A sentence show up on the iPad and I had to read it. Then he said a sentence and I had to write it with my finger. Super easy sentences like:

Who is the president?

All the people of the state

Then he spend some time clicking on the screen and told me that he will recommend me for approval. There was a ding sound whenever he clicks on the screen. Seems like some error message showing up. He printed out a paper and hand it to me. On the paper it says:

(check box) passed the civic test and and English test

(check box) the decision can not be made yet about your case.

I asked him what is wrong. He said it is ok, I just need to review some papers on your case and we will let you know about our decision soon. He thanked me and I thanked me and walked me about of the building.

I am waiting now for the online update. Hopefully I will be scheduled for oath soon.

Good luck everyone and rest assure it is super easy process

Peace

Hello every one, I need your help/encouragement.

I got my interview notice that my interview will be held on July 24 in Duluth (was any one  interviewed there?). I applied N400 with I 751 pending. My wife and I have two kids since our initial interview three years ago. I have no criminal history. I had two speeding tickets happened 4 years ago which I paid in full years ago (no alcohol no nothing). My English is good and I am familiar with the civic questions.

But I am just anxious about USCIS in general I guess.

It should not be normal that they decide to approve I751 but withhold n400, right?

I should be ok passing the joint interview?

I worry about things when there is something to worry about. From the looks of what you have, there seems nothing that I would be concerned about. Stay positive and congratulations.

Also whay was your application date for n400? You should add it to the excel sheet if you haven't already.
