I had my interview yesterday afternoon. I arrived about 1:50pm and my appoint was scheduled for 2:15pm. I parked in the underground parking directly inside 250 Marquette Building. Those that are looking for parking, you must enter on 3rd ST, 3rd ST is a one-way. There is another parking entrance on Marquette but that is probably for contract parking only, there is no public parking through that entrance and there is a sign that posts, you must enter from 3rd ST for public parking. Parking directly underground cost $18 for roughly 1.5 hours. If you have a lot of time you can find cheaper parking else where and walk but I was a bit late than I'd like and I didn't want to deal with the cold and snow so I was ok with paying $18.

Check in was very smooth. If you are there for an interview, try to sit closer to where the north side so you can hear when your number is called. The system is not that loud so you can easily miss your number if you sit too far. Plus, they do not go in order so pay attention! My appt was for 2:15pm and I got called about 2:40pm. The officer who interviewed me was very nice, we small talked while walking to her office about the weather. Once we got to her office I pulled the chair and I guess I must have missed this completed but I didn't realize I should remaining standing. She notion that I should remaining standing and had me take oath that everything I am going to say is the truth, etc... So - do not sit yet! Remain standing until you are told to do so. I must have missed the memo on this one!

She looked at my green card and mentioned it was very old. It is very old, I was a child in the photo but my green card was issued before the newer cards so it did not have an expiration date and I never got around to renewing it. Yes, I got by with it for this long! A little crazy I know! Then she went over the application, took about 7 mins. I had a correction I had to make. I forgot I got a traffic ticket in 2010 so brought the citation and proof that I paid for it. She mentioned that I didn't need to include it since it was less than $500 but she took the information and updated my application.

Then she made me read a sentence that popped up on the ipad screen infront of me. And then she made me write down what she said with the little pen onto the ipad screen. Then she asked me the civics questions and stopped after 6 and said I passed. Overall, it was very smooth. She was very friendly and reminded me a lot of a teacher. She told me they are scheduling oath and there is a big one at the beginning of April so I might be in that one but she's not sure but I will need to wait for my letter. We left her office and talked a bit more about the weather and she walked me out, I exited the back hall door and back to the lobby elevators.

Overall, it went well. Everyone was super friendly and it was easy to find and check in. I'm so glad this is almost over.

Good luck to everyone still waiting! You'll get there!

Yes,  my case updated last night after my interview. It said something like oath ceremony is being scheduled, I forgot the exact wording but it said my application was approved.

Also, hey guys.. so, I applied for citizenship in July '17 and in a month, we are buying a new house and moving there. So, my address is changing. Right now my expected end date is April 2020.. by changing my address, should I expect timeline to move by another 2 years or so?? Any ideas?

If you are moving within Minnesota it won't affect the process, just make sure you update your address everywhere required with USCIS, and for your sponsor if required.

So something fun I learned today, if you assume getting an enhanced DL or real ID compliant DL will be easy after naturalizing, make sure your documents all have the exact same full name. Because one of my documents did not show my middle name I am now in an endless back and forth with the MN DVS asking for proof of name change where there is none.

i applied for enhanced DL in Nov 2018 and received a DMV document as temporary license  and received the license in mailbox  before the end of Jan.2019.  it's processed very slowly. i assumed it's due to  the time-consuming security /background check   ..Since 10/2018, MN released newly designed version of driver license. if interested, visit MN DOP website for sample pictures. the printing takes longer time than that of old version.

just be aware that, applying for enhanced driver license is counted as replacement ,not renewal or new application, which means the last day on the new card is the same as your current old driver license. if your current DL is about to due for renewal soon in next 6 months or so, i highly recommend you wait . by then you can apply for the enhance DL  when you renew your DL at the same time. then your new enhanced DL is valid for  next 4 years.

because not knowing that earlier,  my new enhanced DL has 2 years left and my wife has 1 year left when received out cards.

ATTENTION!!!   Minneapolis N400 filers,  please use the link below to review others or update your status .!  Changes will be saved automatically. Best luck to all of us!
