I don't believe there is any evidence to indicate it is moving quickly at this juncture.

Well, I may be wrong but if you look at the excel sheet, Those who applied in march 2018 are being scheduled for interviews. But all of this is based on when the background check was completed and where you are. There are some applicants in Wisconsin who applied in June 2018 who finished the process in late January.

Taking 12 months is not moving quickly by any stretch of the imagination when a couple of years ago it was taking 5 at the same office.

3/2/18  E-filed N-400 under 5 year rule

3/26/18 Biometrics

7/2019-12/2019 (Yes, 16- 21 months) Estimated time to interview MSP office.

Definitely . I agree with . The MN Office could do better.

I guess we could argue we are not a very large statistical sample, but if you look spreadsheet, it is still taking roughly 12 months to get to interview, with a few taking longer, then a 3-4 weeks for oath ceremony, so 13 months for our groups midpoint, so maybe we are seeing slightly better than the norm, but their calcs as stated earlier are based on historical data.

They must have really low staffing or something in MN. Surely places with tons more population like Cali or Tx who I feel like probably serve way more people and yet seem to adjucate through their cases much more efficiently. Sure it serves ND, MN, and WI but even then can the combined numbers from these 3 states REALLY be that much more than the bigger population states? This is me just thinking out loud since I wouldn't have a clue as to the numbers that these places go through.

Either that or we are just in the Bermuda Triangle equivalent to the upper Midwest.

Here's actual data by service center:  https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/USCIS/Resources/Reports and Studies/Immigration Forms Data/Naturalization Data/N400_performancedata_fy2018_qtr3.pdf

St. Paul/Minneapolis receives a lot of applications, but definitely not the most. They also don't have the most pending cases.

I was told by an officer that this Center was in the midst of a lot of staff churn, resulting in 'a lot of new faces' and plenty of trainees. That was about 6 months ago, so perhaps those trainees are now getting up to speed.

I had my interview today.  As others have suggested, I parked at the Central Library and walked over - it was quick and easy.  I arrived about twenty minutes before my interview time and went through security and checked in.  There were several folks in the waiting area.  I waited about twenty minutes before my number was called.

The agent met me at the door and we went to his office.  Overall, the experience was a snap - 10 questions, along with a reading and writing sample.  He ran through my entire application, asking me to verify what I'd submitted a year ago.  He laughed when he got to the travel page and then I gave him another list of where I'd gone to since I applied.  (What can I say, we like to travel!)

All in all, I think it was about fifteen minutes total.  Easy peasy.  Just remember that at this point, folks are just dotting Is and crossing Ts.  You wouldn't have gotten to this point if they thought you didn't deserve to be.

Oh, one last bit.  Apparently oath ceremonies are booking for the first week of April so keep that in mind.

For those going to interview: the office is skyway connected, which is nice.

The interview itself is easy and straightforward.

However, I'm a member of "A decision cannot yet be made about your application." club now. Please check back in four months...

...and did they offer any insight into why that might be?  I'm sorry to hear you're back to waiting!

I had good rapport with my agent; I asked him all kinds of things I was curious about.

Did they change the status of your application online yet?  We were approved a week ago and case status remains unchanged.

Thanks!

Nope, nothing changed in the system yet, but I was told that I should be receiving a letter in the next bit.

Did your letter arrive already, @birchscott?
