popping in to finally comment (been lurking for a while). Upper Midwest unite! We are getting ready to file the n400 after I file taxes Monday morning. While I was going through the N400 online filing, it was asking if our marriage was 3 years old. It's not until Feb 5 BUT we are within the 90 day window. Anyway when I click no, it says we aren't eligible. If I click yes, that's a lie.

 

Did any of you guys run into that where you are within the 90 day window but your marriage isn't quite at the 3 year mark yet. Should we wait until Feb to file?

 

Any insight from you guys would be amazing!

The 3 year mark is 3 years from when LPR spouse got their green card. It's the issued date on the green card. Also it has to be within the 90 day window. My hubby got his GC in May 2015. We filed citizenship March 2018. We hadn't hit our 3 years yet but we were in the 90 day window.

Even if you have a pending ROC you can still file for citizenship.

oh that's good to know! I knew the 3 years for sure was the GC anniversary. It specifically asked about if we were married for 3 years which I didn't think mattered so I clicked yes to get to the other questions but then I'm thinking "ain't that a lie??". Glad to know it happened to you too! thank you very much for your insight. I'll be clicking submit on Monday and shoveling all the snow from the storm!

I am sorry I cannot give you a definitive reason why yours may be taking longer. When you look at the web site which shows end-to-end processing times it says 50% (ie median) are processed in 15.5 months, and we are seeing that hold true for the most part, and 93% within 23 months (which is quite a long time but these are almost worst case), so hang in there. Yours should be somewhere in between. Each case is different.

So our pd is 3/3/18, but I'm actually hoping it takes a little longer at this point. Then we can make a family trip to the Twin Cities in the warmer weather.  Oh Ikea, how I've missed you.

After more than 10 years of dealing with F1, OPT, E-2, LPR, RoC, and now N-400, my wife (and I, her husband/pro-bono attorney) is finally at the end of this craziness that is the US immigration system.  Our interview is tomorrow morning!  I'll be sure to post details of our experience.
