Oh my gosh oh my gosh! I got my interview scheduled! I just had to come here to share the news!!!! Cause only you guys will understand. Hahaaa

I just finished reading this board and though, I should just check my USCIS account to see if there's an update even though I just checked it last week (no update last week) and it said an interview has been scheduled!!! Totally was NOT expecting this at all but my heart is just racing right now!

Anyways - my interview is scheduled for 2/27 in the afternoon. I almost always hear about morning interviews so I'm a little surprised by the afternoon interview but hey, I got an interview!

And I also know someone else in MN who filed 2 months earlier than us who hasn't heard anything yet. I wish there was a reason why some people are going faster than others in this.

That's probably the most likely. Well I hope we see a interview notice soon. Since it's combo interview will I need to be with him for the ROC interview?

Hello all,

I have been lurking around here for some time, did not post much as I did not have updates/additional details. Well, that was until last month. Here's our story, hope it helps someone!

N-400 Filed date: May 2018

Biometrics: June 2018

Interview notice: Dec 2018

Interview Date: January 17, 2019

Wisconsin resident

Interview notice:
My husband or I usually login once in every 1 or 2 weeks to check the status. We also used to receive emails every week saying there was no updates to our case, which kind of became normal to us given the pace of Minneapolis FO. Having said that, we did not bother to login during the week of Christmas. How wrong we were!

On Dec 20th 2018, we had got our interview scheduled for January 17th. We did not receive any email notifications, so we did not know about until we received the mail on Dec 29th. Boy, we were both freaked out and excited!

Interview day:

We parked our car in the underground parking lot in the Marquette Plaza and took the elevators to 7th floor (Saved a lot of time and unnecessary tension!) Our interview time was 30 minutes apart at 8:30 AM and 9 AM, so we were sure that one of us would be available to take care of our kids in the waiting area. Check in line was very long as well even at that time in the morning!

No sooner than my husband got checked in, he was called in for the interview. I barely got my check in done, getting ready to set my things aside to get seated, I was called in next.

I politely asked the IO if my kids can come in as my husband just went in for the interview. After a bit of deliberation, he agreed to take us all in. He was very kind to my kids and asked them to stay quiet until the interview was over as it was a big day for mom. It also helped that we had told the kids about the interview process before going in.

The IO, like I said, was very friendly and made me feel at ease. He started with Civics test first then Reading and Writing test, followed by going over my N-400 application. After that, he told me that he is recommending my application for approval and proceeded to approve it!! :)

Like most of the applicants mentioned, Wisconsin residents had same day oath. Our naturalization ceremony was scheduled for 1 PM and we walked out of the building as US Citizens!

It was a quite an amazing experience. It is a surreal feeling, I still sometimes wonder if I am in a dream :) I sincerely hope and wish everyone of you get to experience this soon! Good luck and all the best!

Hang in there! It should come soon! I haven't been following this thread for a while because I figured I won't hear anything until at least March...good thing I came back and read some updates here and decided to check USCIS!

I did not get an email notification even though I have the email notification turned on for updates. So make sure you check the USCIS site until your letter comes in the mail. I have not seen my letter in the mail yet but it was posted on the USCIS site.

Sounds like you had a really experience! That's so awesome on the same day oath!

Congrats!!! I can't wait  until I get there.

Did you file I-751 and N400 together?  I am concerned as to why your husband was called in for interview.

I was kind of hoping that those who do biometrics in Fargo might get it, but I guess we'll see.
