Hi Guys,

Completed interview today.

Convenient hourly parking on the 3rd street. Paid $13 for an hour coz I was out before an hour.

Went through security, checked in at the reception, gave me a number, asked to wait.

While I was waiting, looking at the numbers on the screen, seemed like I was far ahead in the line but the IO came exactly at the appt time and called my number (from the right side door of the info-pass kiosks). The number didn't come up on the screen.

The interview was straightforward.  IO was very nice. 15-20 minutes total.

Only asked for the green card. Verified and gave it back.

I traveled 2 times after the since filling so had taken an updated form and gave the updated travel page to her. That made it easy for the officer to just insert it in the file.

I had traffic tickets listed, asked disposition proof of the most recent one.

Hope to hear about the ceremony soon.

God bless America.

Cena, when did you file N-400 and what was your priority queue date? I filed in July, and got my finger print done in Sept. I think my case is currently scheduled for interview since Oct. 20th. What was your timeline like?

Thanks!

I also had my naturalization interview this morning and had a nice experience.

The parking was not a hassle as both my wife and I had worked in downtown in the past. We found an $8 lot to park both of our cars and walked through the sky-way. The officer that interviewed me was also very nice and friendly. I got to the USCIS office 30 minutes early and had to wait for an hour total before I was called in. The initial questions were all the same, as on my application form. The civics and language tests were very straightforward, I got 6 out of first 6 right and we moved on.

One thing I did find helpful was that I took in with me my old passport, which had expired a year ago. The officer happily verified all my entry and exits stamps and was content with the data on my application. I missed entering a row on my application for 2 hours that I spent in Canada a couple of years ago, but he made a note of it and was not a big issue. He also took the paperwork I had brought in from our 2017 tax filing and some additional documents of our house.

Life is now back to normal, waiting in another queue for the oath ceremony. But the interview officer did mention that it may take 2 - 3 months, especially with the holidays coming up.

Good luck to all of the others that are waiting for their interviews.

Does anyone know if the UCIS office will check your passport during Oath? I'm curious about this because I saw a man who's dog destroyed his passport. So it got me thinking - If you have lost your passport say 1 day before the oath (or dog ate it), what happens to you?

as long as the dog didnt swallow the passport, it's still valid. if in that case, i will just bring the damaged passport book to the oath.

congrats @Cybertron.  thank you for you sharing the experience today.

regarding to the oath, the state courthouse in St Paul has oath ceremony schedule on its website. usually there are 4-5 days (two events a day separated in the AM and PM ) in a month. from the old news about oath ceremony, there were around 4-500 new citizens to attend per event.  we might be scheduled for oath on the same day.

as it's close to the political season, they should include more people into the oath schedule each time, so that new citizens can catch to vote in November 6th.

the thing is that i have to take  1-2 days off and drive 6 hours to another state to renew my passport in person .  if i can have oath anytime in October,  i would not bother anymore.

It is annoying, my husband had to drive 12 hours to Chicago to do it.  His doesn't expire until the spring and I was hoping we wouldn't have to do it, but it seems like the process is just taking that long at the moment.
