I had my N-400 interview this morning. Thankfully, the office was open today and I didn't have to deal with rescheduling due to the office being closed the last two days because of the snow storm. The interview was pretty straight forward and I passed the civics test but the outcome was "decision could not be made". The IO explained that my A-file is in transit and that needs to be reviewed as well. I asked if it was due to my I-751 but also reiterated that my I-751 was approved. The IO said they have to do some "due diligence". N-400 status still shows Interview Was Scheduled.

Update on 3/16:

  • We recommended that your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, be approved. Your case was submitted for quality review.
  • Oath Ceremony Will Be Scheduled

One more step closer. Glad that this didn't take too long!

Yes, you can bring your family and friends, no problem at all. They do not need to present any documentation, not even their driver's license. Congrats yet again!! Don't forget to register to vote, change/update your license and of course get passport asap! :D

Do you remember what the guest situation was like at the oath ceremony? Were you sitting with your guests or did they have a different area? I have a bunch of family and friends who want to come along but I don't want them turned away at the ceremony for whatever reason.

I just received notification that my interview was scheduled to 05/11/2023 in Duluth, MN!
I am in complete shock as I applied on 02/25/2023.

I feel excited that the process is so fast but for me it’s a bit of drive - I live in Grand Forks, ND area!

Any insight into Duluth office?

I had my oath ceremony on 4/11 at the St. Paul River Center. Similar to @elmers experience, there were around 1000 people. The oath ceremony letter said to arrive at 12.45pm but the ceremony started at 2pm. Guests were allowed but seating is limited, so I suggest to arrive early so your guests can get a good spot. You cannot sit with your guests (they have seats at the back) and you get seated in specific rows that aids with distribution of certificates after the ceremony. The ceremony lasted for about 45 min.

One nice thing is that give you a SSN form to fill out & submit to SSA officials after the ceremony to get your SSN citizenship status updated. This saves you a trip to the local SSA office. The submission of the form is a bit chaotic but still worth waiting after the ceremony.

I was lucky to get to the front of the line. I don't think it's an urgent must to do thing, but good to get out of the way!

Just got my oath ceremony notice: Wed 5/10 at RiverCentre at 1:45p. I was expecting 6-8 months for my N-400 app to the ceremony date, but it was about four months (app 1/8/23; ceremony 5/10/23). Hopefully that's a good sign for others that N-400 processing is moving faster.

Sorry I missed this, wrote about it a few pages ago.

I still haven't received a physical notice in the mail, which is wild considering my oath ceremony is also on the 10th. I'm so glad they update things online!
