Yes, you can bring your family and friends, no problem at all. They do not need to present any documentation, not even their driver's license. Congrats yet again!! Don't forget to register to vote, change/update your license and of course get passport asap! :D

Citizenship certificate has your picture from green card application (same pic you have in your card). No need for passport, photos, nothing! Take your old/new green cards, EADs, etc if you have them because you need to turn those in.

It seems like things are moving faster at least with N400. I filed it in January and already have an interview scheduled for March 15 with ROC pending (filed in Dec 2021). But there has been no notices so far that it will be a combo interview. Should my wife plan to be at the interview just in case?

i hope some one has ROC pending and did N400 interview to advice , but in your case just bring you wife to the interview , ask the officer nicely to be with you during the interview they already know that you have pending ROC , if he can combine both he will do it , otherwise he will do the N400 only but he will recommend your approval for the ROC

I had my N-400 interview this morning. Thankfully, the office was open today and I didn't have to deal with rescheduling due to the office being closed the last two days because of the snow storm. The interview was pretty straight forward and I passed the civics test but the outcome was "decision could not be made". The IO explained that my A-file is in transit and that needs to be reviewed as well. I asked if it was due to my I-751 but also reiterated that my I-751 was approved. The IO said they have to do some "due diligence". N-400 status still shows Interview Was Scheduled.

The interview itself and questions were straightforward, nothing out of the ordinary. The IO was personable and made me feel very comfortable. I brought some additional evidence along like W2s for 2022, more recent statements for the evidence I had already submitted and any originals (as applicable) but the IO did not ask for anything specific. The IO did not allow my spouse to accompany me to the interview. The IO asked personals questions about my application (address, # of times both of us were married, # of kids, plans to have kids, international trips, club membership) that she updated and then the standard questions that go with each application (are you willing to take the oath of allegiance, etc.).

Documentation provided to the IO (all of it was returned back to me):

  • Expired Green Card
  • I-751 Approval (since I don't have the new green card yet)
  • Driver's license
  • List of international trips I've taken since N-400 filing

Civics questions:

  • Rights of US citizens
  • Who wrote the Federalist Papers?
  • How many amendments does the constitution have?
  • We elect a president for how many years?
  • One of the longest rivers in the US
  • Why does the flag have 50 stars?

Reading: Who lives in the White House?

Writing: The president lives in the White House.

I have ROC pending (Filed Sept 2021) and an N400 interview on March 10. I'll let you know how it goes, but at the moment my husband is going along with me and we're preparing for a combo interview.

Just had the interview this morning. The IO didn't need my spouse to join so he waited in the lobby area.

Very comfortable and straightforward interview. IO wanted to see my green card, passport and state ID, and then after that did the civics test, then had to read "What do we pay the government?" and write "We pay taxes." (long sentence, right? :P) She ran through the eligibility questions and then said that the I-751 looks good, but she cannot approve either petition until my A-file comes in (so same situation as @Vpanda85). IO was great, very nice and it was a very comfortable interview.

I took some additional documentation along (2022 taxes, W2s, current shared insurance) but she said she didn't need anything else. Apparently they have a single naturalization ceremony every month, so depending on when my A-file gets there I will be scheduled either in April or in May.

Questions:

- one promise you make when you become a US citizen

- one state that borders Canada

- who vetoes bills

- what happened at the Constitutional Convention

- who is the current Vice President

- what are the two major parties currently in the US?

It literally took just under twenty minutes. Hoping to hear from them soon!
