Hi everyone. I'm still early in the process (doing biometrics on Friday) but I'm wondering if the time estimate on the my.uscis.gov under "your cases" is accurate? J

Just wondering how much I probably slowed down my ROC by applying 🤦 I had no idea what the wait times were at the MSP office. Yiiiiikes.

Not necessarily accurate at all. When my wife filed in March 2019, the estimated completion date was January 2021. It dropped to June 2020 at one point, but her interview was in November and she just attended the oath ceremony yesterday. :)

That said, we absolutely looked at the processing times that USCIS lists when her ROC was still pending, and we chose to allow the approval on that to come through prior to filing the N-400.

I was in the same boat as you, had a pending ROC and ended up applying for N400 last June. 3 weeks after I submitted my N400, my ROC was approved and I'm not entirely sure if applying N400 had anything to do with it or just merely a coincidence. The timelines listed on the USCIS  site aren't really all that accurate since I have an interview scheduled on January 27th and my estimated completed time is still showing as July 2020. I'd say take it with a grain of salt but I see that you're in North Dakota and the wait times are longer for folks up there.

Congratulations to her! My ROC timeline was ~26 months when I applied so I don't think it made too much of a difference for me. Hopefully  😅

Interesting! I didn't know that ROC could be approved separately once you applied for N400. That's good to know! Not holding my breath but I hope that happens.

The website for me says estimated completion date of December 2020, which isn't too bad. Hopefully it being ND doesn't drag it out further...Not holding my breath on that either lol. Before this & another thread though I didn't know some people interview in Fargo which would be WAY closer. I had to drive 6hrs each way to MSP for a 5 minute appointment to get my I-551 in November.

@Citizendan It will be a miracle if I get my interview notice by July 2020 (15 months). Fingers crossed.

@Prince2togo  I think that's the best thing to do. That's what I did when mine was taking forever. It took me by surprise when I saw the notification today.
