Anyone know what month is the Minneapolis office scheduling interviews for? I'm a June filer and was wondering when I'll get scheduled for an interview, I would assume it'll be probably be sometime in March at the earliest if I'm lucky.

Seems like they start scheduling interviews for December and January filers and some of February and March filers what is your completion time ?

My wife had her interview yesterday and was recommended for approval! Her online status switched to in line for her oath ceremony at some point yesterday, so I guess that means the approval is final on the N-400?

As far as the interview itself, she said it was fine, the officer was really nice (she apparently told my wife she could relax at one point, lol), and the whole process was painless. She was asked a few basic questions about our marriage, since she applied on the 3 year rule, and was also asked about my previous marriage. The officer asked if she had any more recent documentation she wanted to submit, so my wife gave her what she'd brought (it wasn't a ton, she filed in March). I'm not sure exactly how long the interview took but it had to have been around 30 minutes. My wife's six questions on the civics test were:

Name one of the two longest rivers in the United States.

Name two Cabinet-level positions.

Name one branch or part of the government.

Why does the flag have 50 stars?

Before he was president, Eisenhower was a general. What war was he in?

What is one right or freedom from the First Amendment?

I know there are often parking questions. We're from the western suburbs and go downtown quite often, so she just parked in one of the ramps she was familiar with (the plan was Mar-Ten at Marquette and 10th, but she ended up in the Leamington Ramp, which is nearby). She said parking at the ramp nearest 250 Marquette was like $15, and she paid $8. If you don't mind walking, the ramps on the southern end of downtown are cheaper and a lot less hassle, IMO.

Nothing yet. I inquired about it two weeks ago. They said my case is put in a system that schedules interview when slot becomes available. They told me the same thing in November 2018.

I attended my Naturalization ceremony yesterday. Needless to say, I am very happy to be over with this immigration process. I know the wait is long, but it is totally worth it once it comes to an end.

Hang in there, and may all your cases be completed quickly!

I'm just curious, is anyone on here opting for name change during naturalization? I'm doing a name change and I've read that those changing their names will have to do a judicial oath which takes a while to get scheduled instead of an administrative one which is typically much faster. Curious to see what people's experience was like during this process.

Hi Emily,

Have you received the oath ceremony letter or date? My case was approved on Nov 27 but my status is still in line for scheduling? It has been two weeks but I see most people get really fast scheduling.

Nope, haven’t heard anything yet. I’m not too concerned, it’s the holiday season and it seems like Minneapolis is pretty slow with scheduling the oath ceremony compared to other field offices.

Thanks. I am not too concerned either but just want to get this done. Why can't they just schedule it for December? 🙂  See this court house schedule.

Thanks for the schedule! I forgot that all the dates are published well in advance, and I’ve been stressing a bit because we have a short trip in February. I can stop worrying about that! Honestly I assume it will be January or February for my wife’s ceremony. But yes, we definitely just want to get this done too! If nothing else, it would be nice to just get the ceremony scheduled.

Just got notification that I have been scheduled for an interview. Don't know the date yet but I'm just surprised I got an interview appointment this fast since I filed n400 on June 16th, 2019 and so it's only been 6 months between the filing date and when my interview was scheduled. I suppose the MN field office is picking up the pace now.
