retirement Canadian retireing in USA

looking to move to the US permanently (already spend 6 months there) and wonder if we are eligible. We do not seem to fit into any category - no relatives, no job, do not want to start a business.

 

Is there a category for us?

Are both of you Canadian citizens by birth?  If one of you isn't, and is from an eligible country, I suppose you could always try your luck with the Diversity Visa Lottery, since it's based on country of origin and not country of residence/citizenship.  It's quite a long-shot though.

 

 

Note that in some cases, the Green Card Lottery allows Canadians to apply:

• Canadians - citizens or residents - whose birth place is not Canada and is an eligible country - The DV lottery eligibility is based on country of birth and not current residency / citizenship.
• Canadians whose spouse was born in one of the eligible countries may apply (under the spouse name).
• Canadians can also apply if their parents did not live in Canada at the time of their birth (the applicant's birth - not the parents) and neither of them was born in an ineligible country (such as Canada).

Like I said, it's quite the long-shot...
