Shipping clothing to the US from Russia

I have been looking into this and am not sure of my options. My fiance wants to bring her clothes and shoes(she has a pretty big expensive shoe collection like most girls) to the US. What is the best way to do it? I believe Aeroflot charges $50 for 2nd bag and $150 for each additional bag. I have not been able to figure out how many max they allow - looks like 3 total per person. 

 

Is there a reliable shipping option?

Make sure to check if she is flying  economy or economy plus, business class etc..it matters when you are checking for baggage allowance. It should be on their website.

When we shipped from Russia, EMS and regular international mail were practically the same price. So, it makes sense to just ship EMS.

 

We ended up checking a second bag as well, I believe it was around $50 for an extra bag. No idea about charging for multiple extra bags though. Might make more sense just to ship it since EMS in Russia isn't that expensive anyway. If they actually charge $150 for a second bag, that's ridic. EMS shipping would probably be around half that. It takes about two weeks to arrive once it leaves Russia.

Update: so my fiance brought several bags of luggage but still wants to send for the rest of her clothes. Is EMS the best option? Does Meest ship from Russia to the USA? I checked their site and it looked like they ship TO Russia but not from - also seems very expensive ($190 for 50 lbs).

We shipped a box of shoes over to the US. The price difference between the slower option and EMS was laughable, it was only a few dollars cheaper. It will probably be the same in your case, so I'd recommend just going with EMS.
 

I don't know what Meest is, we just used the EMS option at the Russian post office.

What kind of price did you pay? She has shoes and clothes she wants to send but I have no idea what its going to cost me to send from Moscow to Vegas.

I think we paid around $80 USD to ship the box, it weighed around 12 pounds. So, yeah, it seems like $200ish for 90 pounds is even a going rate or good deal by that standard. I doubt for air mail (which is what EMS is) would be cheaper anywhere. But hopefully someone else here on VJ can chime in if they know any other options.
