Hello everybody !

I recieved our NOA1 on May 12,2017.

It is almost September and we still have not recieved our NOA2 .

The USCIS web site says they are processing 129F's from February 1, 2017, and here on visa journey it says they are processing NOA1-NOA2 for April 18,2017 and May 31, 2017.

What is the correct processing time for 129F from when you recieve NOA1 until you receive NOA2?  I am a bit confused on how to read these charts accurately so any insight would be greatly appreciated .

My friend recieved his NOA2 in only 32 days back in October of 2016!

How much longer should I wait until I submit an inquiry with USCIS and also call them ?

Is this normal right now for this to be taking such a long time ?

My fiancee and I are really depressed at how long this is taking , we want to start our life together and this is taking much longer than we expected . We chose to do fiancé visa because we thought it would be a much shorter wait time but obviously we were wrong .

Does this long delay in us receiving our NOA2 have anything to do with her being Russian ?

The United States has suspended giving visas to Russian citizens because of the bad relations between the two countries .

What should I do ?

Thanks for taking the time to read my post and any advice would be much appreciated .

Be patient, I sent in my I129F on 05/25 and received the NOA1 on or about May 30. The suggested timeline for the adjudication of my case is October 9. They're processing at about 5 months now..

It's currently taking about 4 months for a NOA2 on an I-129F on average now. Some people are waiting 5-6+ months. After 6 months, you can contact USCIS for being outside normal processing times.

Yes, back in Oct. 2016 it was taking only ~30 days. That changed at the end of Oct. and into early November due to a large number of I-129Fs being filed.

Fiancee visa is the fastest option still. A spousal visa is taking 12-14+ months on average right now. A K-1 is only taking 6-8 months on average. So if minimizing your time apart was the goal, then a K-1 was still the best choice.

Being Russian wouldn't have an meaningful impact on the process so far. The embassy processing time doesn't matter until after NAO2 and NVC.

Any current suspension /delay of visas would not be related to your K-1 (or a spousal visa).

There is nothing you can do but wait. Even if you call USCIS everyday, it is not gonna help your case.

There's still a lot of April filers who haven't received their NOA2s.

There are several reasons why there is a long wait for NOA2. Service centers are really loaded and it could also be due to the officer handling the cases. I wished you filed last year as it was pretty fast for us who filed un 2016 but right now, you can only wait and continue being patient. Enjoy your time with your family and friends bec you will surely miss them.

This year, 4 to 5 months of waiting just for the NOA2 alone is considered NORMAL. Last year, we would have raised hell by calling everyday just to get them to touch our cases. Sadly, with the sudden increase of applications beginning December 2016, the cases that were filed in the months that followed were affected, and that includes yours.

And NO, it does not have anything to do with your citizenship.

Best of luck!

This entire process is about patience. At times it feels like eternity to hear back from USCIS/NVC/Embassy. USCIS states that it can take up to 5 months to adjudicate your application from NOA1. There is not much you can do till you are approved, then once approved you will see that you will be very busy getting documents together, completing your medical and then your interview.  Everyone else is in the same boat as you. The timetable you should look at is USCIS. The timetable here on VJ is based on those members who take the time to update their timeline. Then VJ estrabulates the numbers from there. So if many are not adding their times then that number is not very accurate.

More Patience is needed.  Believe when I say this every step of the way seems like it takes forever and sometimes it does. Took us one year and 4 months to get my wife's LPR GC adjudicated when it normally takes 6 months. Those who applied and were under the responsibility of California were done in six months.  We can only control what we can control. The other is in someone else's hands and we just have to wait. Immigration is a mess right now.

Sorry I time out.

Hello everybody!

I received our NOA1 on May 12,2017.  It is almost September and we still have not received our NOA2. The USCIS website says [state] they are processing 12-F's from February 1, 2017, and here on visa journey it says they are processing NOA1-NOA2 for April 18,2017 and May 31, 2017. What is the correct processing time for 129F from when you received NOA1 until you receive NOA2?  I am a bit confused on how to read these charts accurately so any insight would be greatly appreciated. Please see below.

My friend received his NOA2 in only 32 days back in October of 2016! And that was 2016.  Now it's much longer. Can't compare yourself to anyone else. Each case is different and is handled differently from yours. Save yourself some grief and don't compare to other times or other people.

How much longer should I wait until I submit an inquiry with USCIS and also call them? They won't answer you unless you are outside the normal processing time and that is 5 months. After 5 months from NOA1 then you can call and stomp your feet.

Is this normal right now for this to be taking such a long time? Very much normal. This maybe normal for years to come. No one knows for sure what is causing the new timeline for visa's.

My fiancée and I are really depressed at how long this is taking, we want to start our life together and this is taking much longer than we expected. We chose to do fiancé visa because we thought it would be a much shorter wait time but obviously we were wrong. Not Really. CR1's are not any faster as they have to go through the same adjudicating process as a K1. No great gain over a K-1.

Does this long delay in us receiving our NOA2 have anything to do with her being Russian?  Nationality and Country have a very large influence on how they are adjudicated. If you are from a high human trafficking country that will influence the case. If you have a clean background then you will go along much quicker than someone who needs a little more investigation.

The United States has suspended giving visas to Russian citizens because of the bad relations between the two countries.

Let's look at that a little more closely.  Here is the announcement on the US Embassy in Russia.

My personal comments are in red.

As a result of the Russian government’s personnel cap (a cap is the number of allowed visas and once that number is reached then one will have to wait for the next round of visa issuance) imposed on the U.S. Mission, all nonimmigrant visa (NIV) operations across Russia will be suspended beginning August 23, 2017. Visa operations will resume on a greatly reduced scale. Beginning September 1, nonimmigrant visa interviews will be conducted only at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow. NIV interviews at the U.S. Consulates in St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, and Vladivostok are suspended until further notice. As of 0900 Moscow time Monday, August 21, the U.S. Mission will begin canceling current nonimmigrant visa appointments countrywide. The NIV applicants who have their interviews canceled should call the number below to reschedule their interview at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow for a later date. NIV applicants originally scheduled for an interview at the U.S. consulates in St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, and Vladivostok should call the number below if they wish to reschedule their interviews at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow.

https://ru.usembassy.gov/visas/

What should I do? Follow the instructions from the website above. They haven't stopped forever the issuance of visas, just a suspension till things get sorted out. All's not lost. The two of you are going to have to pull together and work through this together all the while understanding that this is going to be a very long process. What will come out of this is you will quickly find out if you have true love.  After all, this is what a couple must do to have a strong and loving relationship. Just my 2cents.

Thanks for taking the time to read my post and any advice would be much appreciated.

I hope this helps.

Sorry, but I have to disagree a little here. There's no evidence (that I could find) of the I-129F being slower for certain nationals over others. Yes, having a "simple" case (no prior marriages, no criminal history, etc.) likely plays a good role, but I couldn't find anything about nationality. VJ doesn't track this metric, and it's not in the USCIS statistics either.

Once it gets to the embassy, sure. I've read people's individual experiences, but personally for just about every national from a "difficult" country I see having an issue like that, I see somebody from a a low-fraud country complaining about the same thing. :P Anyway, I understand your point.

I sent my package  last year and it took two months  almost  there months  to get noa2.I have friend  who submit  there package  in march and there waiting till now for noa2.My suggestion is just to wait and patient  it will  come in when u least  expect  it.
