If you have a job offer, and they are willing to provide you with an employment letter stating they want to hire you, what hours, what position, you can expedite your EAD based on that but you need that letter as sufficient proof. Also, to note expedites are not always granted.

01/13/2016: I-129F filed  07/15/2016: K-1 visa in hand

Thank you so much. I will definitely follow your advice as well and get the employment intent letter to try to expedite the EAD.

if you can make an infopass apointment and bring the letter from your perspective employer as well as the ead submittal conformation to see if they can give it to you there or at least get it done faster.

Thanks for this. I am trying to make the appointment right away and will keep trying until I succeed. Currently the Baltimore office doesn't seem to have available dates on the infopass page. I will try and try again and again. Thanks.

The company told me that with a work permit, I had a high chance of being considered for the position.

I have recently talked to someone who was offered a job and requested to have her case expedited for EAD but 1 week later, she still hasn't heard anything about her request.

She sent them the job offer letter as evidence that there is a job waiting for her.

In your case, the employer telling you that there is a "higher chance" for you to be considered for the position if you have a work permit does not necessarily mean that you were offered the job and I am sure you understand that but the point of the matter is USCIS needs to have a document proving that you've 'already been offered' the position before even considering to expedite your case.

I am currently jobhunting as I recently received my EAD and to be honest, all of the employers I have applied for a job have this question on their Application Forms:

"Are you authorized to work in the US? YES or NO"

If you encircle Yes without really having the permit at hand (even though you have applied for it already and it is currently being processed), you are basically lying to the employer. They will ask for a proof if you say YES. If you cannot provide anything, you're giving out a bad impression.

I know that you can no longer turn back time and file for EAD concurrently with your AOS but this is the situation now and you just have to deal with it. If I were you, I would wait until you have your EAD before you start seeking for a job.

Just my 2 cents but I hope everything works out well for you.

Get a job offer letter with the details and pay rate of the position. Go see your local congressional representative, and ask them to help you expedite under 'severe hardship and financial loss' and this will hopefully work for you. Good luck!

You still have to send in the forms. Not every congressman office works quickly. Infopass or expedite request should work fine.  Sometimes involving a third party can complicate it.  Get the form sent in asap. Send an expedite request and letter from prospective employer.

Thanks. I sent the forms. Now I'm trying my luck to get an infopass appointment.

Hi everyone, I can now provide an update on my journey so far. As you know, I had an urgent need for EAD after getting a job opportunity. I took your advice and booked an appointment for infopass. Here is the journey:

Aug 19th 2017 - Mailed my EAD application

Aug 23rd- Received "Case received" receipt notice

Aug 25th- Received email that case is accepted and has been routed to USCIS National Benefits Center

Aug 28th- Finally managed to book for an infopass appointment after several attempts

Aug 31st- Went for the infopass appointment. The lady officer who attended to me was very friendly and helpful. She assisted me in applying for an expedite and gave me a target date of September 5th by which I should receive a response from USCIS

Sept 1st- Received a response through email that I should fax document/s to justify my expedite request

Sept 1st- Compiled documents which included my Employment Intent letter which had been provided by my potential employer, hospital bills (as I had been receiving treatment) and a letter explaining my case

Sept 11th- Received notice through post that same biometrics would be used for this case so there will be no need for another biometrics

Sept 15th- Called USCIS to follow up and spoke to a very kind gentleman who assured me that my case was being looked into and that I should just be patient. His kindness gave me very positive vibes:)

Sept 25th- Received notice through post that my EAD request had been approved and that my card would be sent separately

Sept 27th- Received notice inviting us for the Green Card interview on 23rd Oct:) Yay!!!

Sept 29th- Received my EAD card...

Oct 4th- Started working. Amen!

Thank you for your advice which really helped me. God bless you all and all the best to everyone on the journey.
