Our bank acct didn't get much use before I had my direct deposit put into there - problems with my last employers getting my direct deposit right, so I didn't want to switch it over until I got hired permanently for my now-employer. ANYWAY - the first direct deposit went in two weeks ago, so by the time of the interview I'll have about 3 weeks of decent activity on the account - won't have a statement, because the transaction period runs from the 13th-12th.

I wasn't going to bring anything showing the bank account, because it was irrelevant a few weeks ago, but now it's getting use I'm wondering if I printed out my account summary showing all the transactions, etc. from the bank's website, this could be used as evidence? I'm already using some of the credit cards he's an authorized user on as evidence, but I wasn't sure about this.

Thanks!

meow mix,

How did you pay all of your bills prior to getting the direct deposit worked out if not through a bank? Cashed the pay checks and paid cash for everything?

We did not show any bank statement all we gave him was a letter from the bank stating we are both on the account because I do not think its any of their business how much we have in there or how we pay our bills. A letter will do just fine.Dont sweat it.

I had bank accounts - but my mother's name is on them as well, and for obvious reasons, I do not want her having access to information when it is information involving both me and my husband. Before we married, I didn't care.

As far as my paychecks before, they went into an account through my credit union in NY - an acct which I no longer use since getting this direct deposit set up, and they wouldn't add him to my bank account over the phone (I considered doing it as a last resort even though my mother would have access) especially since he has no SSN.

I also had my own account at Bank of America, but wasn't much good for anything other than transferring car payments to my mom's account - everywhere I went, they told me it was invalid.

SO we just opened our own together - but my old employer was a temp agency who kept telling me the direct deposit was going through when it wasn't - got tired of getting my check a week late every week, so only when I got hired for the current employer - fortune 500 who can figure out direct deposit - did my direct deposit start going in.

He does cash his checks and pay everything in cash and money orders.

It took me a while to get everything sorted out - we've only been married three months.

Now that everyone knows my financial saga...:)

meow mix,

Sorry to make you spill your guts - I was hoping to see something that would give me some ideas to offer, but I'm coming up dry.

Oh, it's okay. I have the cards showing him as an authorized user (two of them), plenty of pictures of family functions, proof of him as my life insurance beneficiary, proof he's on my dental insurance, etc etc (hate to run through the whole list) so I just posted here in hopes of finding out if it really makes a difference. Seems like given how long we've been married and all the issues I've had with various bank accounts (and crappy employers) that it won't be a big issue - just going through the final preparations and stressing a little bit, I suppose.

So - this is sort of related to meow-mix's query - are printouts of online bank statements ok? We hate getting paperwork so we've requested no paper statements be delivered - we get our bank statements online.

Will printouts of online bank statements be acceptable as evidence?
