APPLY FOR WORK AUTHORIZATION & TRAVEL BEFORE AOS

I was curious, can you apply for the travel documents and work visa prior to applying for AOS? If so is it automatically approved and when you apply for AOS finally does that reset the Work authorization and travel ?

You can BUT it would be a waste of money as EAD/AP will have the same expiry date as your 90th day deadline for getting married IF you file it prior to filing for AOS.

 

Also, the timeline for processing the EAD is 90 days to more than 100 days so by the time you get your card, it has already expired.

You'd be spending almost $1,000 for nothing. Better file it concurrently with AOS. EAD/AP are free when filed ALONGSIDE AOS. 

 

Futhermore, whether you file it together with AOS or not, you will still pay $1,225 for the AOS application. If you are willing to spend almost $1,000 for the EAD/AP alone, why don't you just add a few hundred dollars more and file for the AOS instead?

Yup, exactly as above. You can apply, but even if approved it would expire at the end of your original 90 days of legal stay. And it still takes 90-120 days to obtain. The math just doesn't work out. Save the money.
