Just wondering if anyone else have used Plenty of fish and are now filing for k1, I cant see anywhere on there websites them mentioning the International Marriage Broker Regulation Act?

I know its not an international marriage broker but I don't know how to write that down/ I can put in all there terms and conditions but it doesn't mention anything. The reason i am asking is that we have a RFE for one of the things  it asked for circumstances of meeting 34.a we originally just wrote a dating site not realising how precise you must be.

Hi @rachied26

We've found this on Visa Tutor about circumtance of meeting 34.a. (We called it declaration of meeting)

I believe is about how you knew each other and then you describe the story of first met, when he proposed you, how many times you've been together, etc.

I hope it helps!

What above said^^.

Be sure to name the dating website and describe what it is. Explain how you came to meet him on this site, then explain how the relationship blossomed.

If you email the website administrators, they usually have a standard form that states that they are not an IMB.  Most sites have to deal with the question often and have a proven and successful way of explaining that they are not a marriage broker.  I would attach that to avoid the FRE later.

PHILIPPINES ONLY!!!  CFO (Commission on Filipinos Overseas) INFO - Can't leave home without it!

PDOS (Pre-Departure Registration and Orientation Seminar) is for ages 20-59.  Peer Counseling is for 13-19 years of age.

It is required to have the visa in their passport for PDOS and Peer Counseling.

GCP (Guidance and Counseling Program) is for K-1 Fiancee and IR/CR-1 spouse ONLY.

did you finally got anything from POF? I have been looking like crazy and I can't find information to contact them and nothing valuable... I'm in the same situation, i just start filling the i-129f and I want to avoid any RFE in the future...

Not sure if this helps but:

Definition of an International Marriage Broker. “International marriage broker” is defined as an entity (whether or not U.S.-based) that charges fees for providing matchmaking services or social referrals between U.S. citizens/permanent residents and foreign nationals. The definition also exempts non-profit religious or cultural matchmaking services, and dating services that do not match U.S. citizens/residents with aliens as their principal business and that charge comparable rates and offer comparable services to all clients, regardless of gender or country of citizenship.

POF as far as I know is 100% free and it is not only for foreign nationals it is also used by Americans to meet other Americans.

It would not qualify as a IMB.

Steven.

Hey I just printed off the terms and conditions and enclosed in the 129f package and just stated it was not officiated with any international marriage broker when i stated how we met in circumstances of meeting.

I also emailed pof to get verification of this, they got back to me but it took a couple of months. When i went for my interview they asked how we met, I said on POF and they said ok. We got approved!!! :) Good luck!
