Does age matter?

Hello everyone,

I just received the email that my packet was received so I hope in the next couple of days everything gets processed okay. Me and my fiance are both 27. Neither of use have been married or have kids and do not have any type of criminal record. I also make pretty decent money so I can definitely take care of both of us. Does any of that matter? Will I get my application processed or is that wishful thinking?

Thank you!

My fiance is 32, I am 25, we both were never married and don't have any kids. I am a student, but my fiance has a decent income. We just got approved yesterday.

I think you should be fine.

Good luck!

Why wouldn't your application be processed? Lol. It's going to take a while, but it's going to be fine.

Oh man is there a way to edit the original post? I meant to say will it get processed faster! Hahaha

No, it will not get processed faster. It will be a normal processing time - if you filled your paperwork right and won't get any requests for more evidences.

Me and my husband *then fiancè* were both 29 when we filed for K1. You should be fine.

A noticeable age difference would be a point of interest but the focus of the consul for getting the application approved on the interview stage is whether you have presented your relationship as a legit one and the ability to stand on your own once you get married without needing government assistance. They want to get rid of those who are filing for 'convenience' if you know what I mean.

Do not be afraid nor worried.

You're fine.

Best of luck!

I was 29 when i applied for K-1visa (am 30 now) and my fiancee was 33(still 33), which means she's 4 years older than me during k-1 application processing. My visa got approved, am here in the US, we got married :) same age and a couple of years difference wont make a difference but if she's more than 10 years older than you and so then they might ask you questions at the interview and they consider it as a red flag. Since you both are 27, you are good to go :) all the best
