Hello,

So this might (and very likely is) a dumb question but, like all of you, I want zero delays and to do this right. Is it okay for me to be the "preparer" of these forms? My fiance works all day whilst I am home pregnant and I am also just so much more organized than he is (bless him). Also my penmanship is much more legible. Would USCIS think it odd for me to be the "preparer" of the documents? Should I just type it all up and then have him sign it and there be no "preparer" at all? I don't see any reason they would find it odd because they'll probably just assume I am the more organized fiance but you just never know.. thanks!

I filled the paperwork out for my fiancé and she just signed it. I wouldn't even put yourself as a preparer.

This. It's pretty much taken for granted that petitioner and beneficiary need to fill out the form together. Doesn't really matter which of you actually does the writing. There's no need for you to complete the "preparer" section.

just check box 7 a in part 12 and fill out a g325a for your self and you are fine.

it is clearly explained in the instructions what you need to include

Thanks for taking the time to answer but I'm a little confused - this question wasn't about including anything?

Makes sense, thanks! I never know how serious to take their instructions or what they care about and what they don't give a rats about.

my bad there is no extra form to fill out.

this was the section I was referring to.

11. Part 12. Contact Information, Declaration, and Signature of the Person Preparing this Application, if Other
Than the Applicant. This section must contain the signature of the person who completed your application, if
other than you, the applicant. If the same individual acted as your interpreter and your preparer, that person should
complete both Part 11. and Part 12. If the person who completed this application is associated with a business or
organization, that person should complete the business or organization name and address information. Anyone who
helped you complete this application MUST sign and date the application. A stamped or typewritten name in place
of a signature is not acceptable. If the person who helped you prepare your application is an attorney or accredited
representative, he or she may be obliged to also submit a completed Form G-28, Notice of Entry of Appearance as
Attorney or Accredited Representative, along with your application.
