that's fast, awesome!

I'm excited and now very nervous.

My lawyer is awful and I really don't know how to answer some of the questions. We filed 2 months after we got married so not sure if that will go against us?

We filed within a month of getting married since my visa was about to run out. Let's see if I can remember the questions:

to my husband: what do you do for work?

to both: you recently moved - why? how much rent do you pay?

to me: you have a lot of entries in the country, why? (I was on a student/post-doc visa for like 10 years)

to both: do you have any other documents to show me as proof of your life together? we showed a blog post by our wedding photographer with photos, and a document my siblings made about us for our wedding. I guess we could have showed more official docs like our new lease with both names, joint bank account statements/utility bills with both names etc, but our interviewer seemed to like our personal docs which showed our relationship plus our family's support.

As long as you have a genuine relationship, there's not too much to worry about. If you don't have joint bank account yet, it may make sense to establish that (although banks can be difficult if you don't have your EAD yet).

Hi Daniel,

How did the interview go? Our status just changed to "Ready to Be Scheduled for an Interview." Hopefully things are moving along fast, because we applied for an expedited EAD because my husband got a job offer. Eek!

Looking forward to your response.
