F-1 expedited processing under Emergency

Hi, 

 

I am waiting on my F-1 approval. I have previously filed COS from H1-B to F-1 and upon RFE request, submitted the new I-20 as well. But my class will be starting soon and waiting on this process has also created financial exigency. Is it advisable to request an expedited review of my F-1 application under emergency clause? Will it hurt or help my case?  I am meeting with my school designated official tomorrow. Please advise best course of action.

You can try calling but the expedited criteria are very specific and your case doesn't really fall under any of them

Maybe you can convince them you paid tuition and it could be "several financial loss" but I doubt they would buy it. You would have to submit actual evidence and it should be some large amount of money.
