hello everyone. i came in usa a year and a half ago with a business visa, when i was going through a divorce in my country. i met an old friend here and we got married months later ( my divorced was already pronounced abroad and i have a decree). but in the new i-130A form for wife there is no question about any previous marriage, and my husband and i already sent the papers to uscis (i went for the fingerprints appointment last week already).

 My questions are:

1/ do i need to bring the divorce decree with me at the interview?

2/do i need to give the case to a lawyer because of that?, (my husband and i already start on our own.)

3/ is this gonna be an issue in our process?

thank you!

you should have sent the copy of the divorce decree and translation into English with the i130

so you could prove that you were free to marry

not on the i130A but on the i130, part 4 where it says information about the beneficiary, you, it asks for your marital status, you should have marked that you were previously divorced. and then attach the divorce decree and translation to the form. what did you answer there?

you should take it to the interview
