I believe you will get a US Passport, use Philippines passport for exit from Philippines and US Passport for entry into USA. I think you will show both passports on exit and entry. Other more seasoned forum posters will either confirm or correct soon :)

Yes you will need the Philippines passport to avoid the ECC fees .. which can be HUGE.   Philippines passport is not required, but by having the Philippine passport you removed the requirement for the ECC fee.

When leaving the Philippines you can use either passport, but present BOTH (Philippines does not have a requirement on this).

For entry into the USA you must use the U.S. passport

Hank,

Do you happen to know the updated fee amount for ECC-A?   I couldn't find the info on the bureau of immigration website.

My wife and I are deciding whether to apply for the Philippine passport or go with the exit clearance certificate.

Thanks in advance.

The fee isn't online.. they calculate there ... and to date with those that report back - it has never been pretty.  Look serious at getting the youngest a Philippine passport, no appt needed if under 7 years of age.
