Did the officer let you know immediately about where and when your Oath will be? Or did you have to wait for the website to provide you with an update?

After the end of the interview, he indicated he is recommending me for approval. At that point, he asked if i wanted to do the Oath on 14th Dec itself. Hen then handed me a form to fill out my name, A number, number of guests etc for Dec 14th. He also gave me a paper that had the location, time of the Oath ceremony at Hayward City hall as well. So everything was done on the spot. He told me i will get a notice about the oath ceremony in a week confirming the 14th Dec date as well.

yes, it is allowed. Once you are checked-in you are prohibited to use. You can simply switch it off or put in silent mode.

I had my interview this morning and I passed.

 

Pretty much the usual stuff which people have posted on this thread previously.

 

My status changed to "Oath Ceremony Will Be Scheduled" only 15 minutes after my interview was completed.

Congrats. Didn’t the officer give you the option of taking oath on dec 14th?

They did make me fill out information for the Dec 14th oath, however, they also mentioned that I will need to wait for the official oath letter from USCIS. They specifically mentioned, that don't show up for the Dec 14th oath if I don't have an official letter from USCIS.

 

Did your oath letter post online already, or mailed?

Letter was posted online today (1 week from interview) and its weird. They have scheduled the Oath Ceremony at Oakland on Dec 5th when i filled out the form for Dec 14th at Hayward.

The exact same thing happened to me. Interview letter was posted online today (3 days after my interview) and it also for Dec 5th in Oakland.

Looks like some slots got opened for Dec 5th and are pushing Dec 14th guys to that date. Its one thing to plan and then not to plan. USCIS!

Husband received his US passport on Friday 11/23.  He applied on 11/7/18 at our local USPS a couple of hours after finishing the ceremony and requested regular service but it arrived within 3 weeks. Now just waiting to get the Naturalization Certificate back.

Okay...so I was originally scheduled for the oath ceremony on 12/5 but I received a notification this morning that my case status has been changed back to "Oath Ceremony Will Be Scheduled". I called up USCIS to check and see what's going on and I was told that my interview has actually been de-scheduled due to overload of work. USCIS also said that if I wanted to run the risk of actually going to the oath on 12/5 I can go ahead and do so, but there is a chance they will turn me back because my naturalization certificate will not be ready on time.
