We have documents signed by her parents and my parents in front of a notary. On the document it says they know about the marriage and they were there that day.

Did your 751 interview letter state the request for affidavit as well? I dont see this on my interview request!

It is not on the actual interview notice, but in another paper that came in the same envelope. I can post a photo once I'm back home if you want.

@hsetin My countdown is over already and my case completion time is in November 2017. I emailed USCIS and received the same general reply that my case is within the processing time... I'm just concerned about how could my case complete in November if I haven't received an interview notice yet. I can only hope for miracles🤞

There is a good chance that your case completion might get pushed to December. Even if you get the interview letter next week you’re actual interview will be month after that. Not sure how many naturalization ceremonies are being held in Oakland in November for your case to completed in due time.

Congrats @Californian wife and @AQT!

My status just changed too. I'm scheduled for an interview, finally!

Waiting for the letter too.

That's a good Monday :)

Are you talking about having an interview scheduled (through email) or did your case status change on the online portal?

Also, did anyone receive an in line letter through email? I received one, but nothings changed on my USCIS portal..is this common? It had the following in the letter

Your Case Status: Testing and Interview

On October 4, 2018, we scheduled an interview for your Form N400.

If your case status indicates that you are currently in this step, you have either been scheduled for an interview or are in line to be scheduled for an interview. The amount of time your application will remain in this step will vary by office and is largely determined by the number of cases ahead of yours. The interview notice will have specifics about time, location and anything you will need to bring to your interview. If your application remains pending beyond our normal processing times (as shown below) please contact our national customer service center at 1-800-375-5283. Please note that not every application/applicant will require an interview. In some instances, an interview is required by regulation and others an interview is requested because USCIS has determined that this is the most efficient means to determine eligibility. For a naturalization application the interview will include your taking the required English and/or Civics tests (unless exempt or waived).

Both. I received a generic email/text message stating: "We have taken an action on your case and it needs your attention. Sign in to your account to view your case status and additional steps you need to take". When I signed in I could find my interview letter.

Ahh okay. I'm still waiting for the interview letter to show up on my documents tab, I guess it will take a few days. My portal states my interviews been scheduled and that the letter will show up on the documents tab, although it gives a small checklist of what to bring on the portal. Thanks.

I had my combo interview yesterday. It all went well, but they didn't confirm their decision because they have to do a security check on the information we provided regarding the I751. The agent told me it can take up to 6 weeks, but if everything is OK it can be as fast as 2. Because of that extra time, she didn't think I will be able to be on the Oath Ceremony in November, but probably December and if not, January for sure. I will keep you guys updated.

Before any of the interviews one agent gave me the envelope with the passport information and all of that. The envelope had wrong spelling on the Spanish translated version, but that's OK, it just catched my eye being my mother  tongue 🙂

The I751 interview was exactly like I was expecting. She asked my wife and me questions about our relationship (where did we meet, when did we meet, each other birthdays, wedding day, how we met in-laws, trips we have done together and separate, etc.). As for the documents, she took everything we had with us, but she particularly asked if we had the marriage certificate, and taxes documents. Well, and passports and green card of course. After 30 minutes or so answering her questions she handed the form to us and asked us to review the changes.

When that was done, she asked my wife to leave the room and we started the N400 interview. Some of the questions were exactly the same. We reviewed and completed the answers I gave when I originally sent it (in my case was just trips outside the US). She handed me the document to review, I gave it back when I was done and we started the test. I had to read this:
- What is Columbus Day?
I had to write this:
- Mexico is south of United States
And then she asked me the following questions:
1- What does the President's Cabinet do?
2- What is the supreme law of the land?
3- What did the Declaration of Independence do?
4- How many judges in Supreme Court?
5- For how many years do we elect a Senator for?
6- Name one branch of the US Government

She handed me a paper saying I have passed the test, and told me that I will receive a notice about their decision on my I751 in the timeframe I mentioned above. If I understood properly, I will receive another separate notice after that regarding my Oath Ceremony.

Thanks for sharing your experience.. I'm sure you'll hear from them very soon! I can't believe what we need to go through just because our I751 application took a very long time to be processed...

Actually, now that you mentioned it, she also told us that the I751 are so delayed because they are doing all the interviews now. Apparently before they didn't do the work-related green cards in the same place, but as of a few months ago they are in charge of every single interview there, so there is a huge backlog now

Oh wow. BTW did she keep any of your documents? do I need to have copies of my documents or the original is enough? I mean documents like mortgage statement or utility bills?  also, did they ask for the affidavit from family? did they keep it? I have 4 weeks to my interview but I'm trying to gather all the documents now.

They kept everything except passports and green card. I would do copies, and maybe take the original ones just in case, but keep them separated so they don't keep them if you don't want
