No official news, but my wife wrote to our Representative's Office (Barbara Lee in our case) and they asked on our behalf. USCIS answered saying they will probably send my new interview notice around the end of this month, and the interview will be at the end of October more than likely. Again, nothing official.

I'm expecting yours to be really close in time too. Not sure if before or after mine, because your naturalization application was before, but the green card one was after... Not sure how they will process it.

We had our Oath Ceremony on Aug 9th, morning session. We decided to apply for passport during the same time. Although, I had appointment at local post office for following day just as a back up.

 

About 845 people were present at the ceremony and more than half decided to apply there so there was a HUGE line. BUT, the key is, if you have the gray envelope ready (the one we received during the interview process), we just need to drop it off at the desk and no need to stand in line.

 

Make sure, you have signed the application, signed the naturalization certificate, included one photo and appropriate check with correct amount. 

 

We did not stand in line. We received our passports yesterday.

 

Hope this helps for the people having their Oath in Sept.

My ceremony is tomorrow, I do have an appointment at my local post office too.  Haven't yet decided what I will do, but If i can just drop off the completed packet that sounds easy enough.  Do they need to check your ID? Should I make a photocopy? looks like the post office is asking me for a bunch of photocopies.

09/11/2017 (day   06):  Credit Card Charged (Online Banking)

09/16/2017 (day   11):  Receipt Notice via us mail Priority Date: 09/08/17

09/21/2017 (day   16):  Biometrics Appointment Notice Received

09/29/2017 (day   24):  Early walk-in biometrics was completed (originally scheduled for 10/02/17)

10/19/2017 (day   44):  Email and text notification received Case Status "Case in line for an interview"

06/27/2018 (day  295): Email and text notification received Case Status "Interview was Scheduled"

07/02/2018 (day  300): Interview Letter Received via USPS

08/01/2018 (day  330): Interview Date

08/09/2018 (day  339): Email and text notification received Case Status "Oath Ceremony"

08/13/2018 (day  342): Oath Letter Received

When you apply during the ceremony, no additional documents are needed. Just the completed and signed form along with one photograph. Original signed Naturalization Certificate and $145 check. No validation of any IDs etc. Put everything in the packet and drop it off.

Hello all I'm a newbie to the forum. So happy that I was able to locate this discussion thread. I'm a November filer. As I loggined to my account portal (almost hopelessly), I found my estimated wait time has changed to 24 days while the estimated case completion time is still November 2018. Does it mean I will receive an interview notice within 24 days?? I'm so excited!

Hi thesalamander. I have the same thing showing up. I doubt any of the dates are accuarte dates. It's an automated system that calc days. That's my understanding. The official interview letter is the only document that indicate date. Can anyone from the group add to this?

Welcome to the forum!

 

There is no way to know it for sure until you receive an interview notice, but checking some other members times, if everything goes fine I wouldn't be surprised you receive the notice late September-early October, you have you interview a month later and the oath ceremony on November or December. Good luck!
