Guys, I didn't apply for a passport at the ceremony because I didn't have time to take a picture before hand - I also didn't have the time to wait in line there as the line was huge. Either way - just wanted to share that my regular (non rushed) application at the post office that I did July 21st, shipped out today August 3rd. Regular processing took 13 days. I didn't have to spend the time in line, I didn't have to pay the $60 for expedited service and I took my picture with my iphone at home - then used https://www.idphoto4you.com/ to create the passport photo file. Cost like $1 at walgreens instead of $15 if you go and take a passport photo there.

Anywho, just my 5 cents worth..

Thanks for the info! It sounds like local post office is the way to go.

And congratulations on completing the process.  Please let us know if your naturalization certificate comes back with passport? or do they send that back separately.

For those of us who got cancelled with their interviews. I spoke with a tier 2 officer and I was told it takes up to 90 days to get rescheduled.. It's been about 6 weeks since my interview got cancelled.. I hope we hear from them soon...

If you don't mind me asking, how far off the info pass appointments are now? If I don't hear from them by end of Sep, I'll need to schedule mine too.

keep me updated about your appt!  I'm curious to see if that helps.

Sorry, but I have no idea. They no longer allow you to select a time and no longer accept walk-ins. So its become extremely restrictive. You can only "request an appointment", hopefully infopass gets back before 90 days 😱

I would suggest you go ahead and request an appointment now, cancel it later if you get one and dont need it.

I went for my second I-551 a month ago. As Hansum2 is saying, you can't select day and time like before. Now you request it and a USCIS agent will call you (I received the call the day after) and tell you the available dates. My appointment was three days after the call. Not sure if that is the normal time or I was lucky.

Hi all, just wanted to report that my husband was approved today :)

He asked if he could get in on the ceremony on Thursday 8/9 and the officer, as expected, said it was too late for that one and would most likely be scheduled for 9/6.  We will be out of the country on that date (tickets purchased in Nov last year) and the officer said that once he receives the interview notice to write back to request it be rescheduled.  Hopefully it all works out okay.

My husband doesn't remember all the questions but says he was asked to read? Who is Abraham Lincoln? And then to write " Abraham Lincoln was the president during the Civil War".

One of the questions he remembers was, When is Independence Day?

Another was, Who is the Speaker of the House?

We arrived by car at 6:50am, parked in a metered parking space on Washington St. (which is not enforced until 9am)  then waited until 7:10am before walking to the office 1.5 blocks away.  Upon arriving there was already a line but a few minutes later a really friendly guard asked if anyone had an appt. and let the ones who did enter.  We went through security and then up the elevator to Reception, started at Counter A, who was nice and cheerful, then to Counter B who was nice but not as cheerful then asked to wait until an officer called out my husband's name.  He was called in at 7:52 and came out at about 8:40 or so.  We arrived back at the car before the meter started, so free parking in the city, yeah.

Good luck to everyone still waiting for their interview and we will update about the ceremony when we know more.
