2017 San Francisco filers

HI SFO filers, myself and my husband submitted n-400 form thro’ mail post on October 16th 2017. We did our biometric on 11/09/2017 in Oakland office and inline for interview since 11/14/2017. It’s been more than 7months, our case status still remains the same. Is there anybody filed during the same time and got interview scheduled? When can I expect the interview to get scheduled? Any idea?

Same here: I applied online on November 7th, did my biometrics the following week, nothing since then.

SF is backlogged, from what I can see on VJ and trackitt, they are processing August currently... I would say you need to wait one or two months to get an interview scheduled.

Hi there

I am also an August 2017 filer for N-400. My I-751 was filed in July 2016 and was still pending when I filed my N-400. I received the N-400 interview letter two weeks ago which scheduled my N-400 interview in June, and I was expecting it might be an N-400 and I-751 combo interview. But last night I received a letter from the SF local office telling me that they have to cancel my interview due to unforeseen circumstances. Then I called USCIS this morning and the operator told me that the system shows the officer is still reviewing my case and not ready for interview yet. Another applicant also shared her interview experience in another website. She is also a N-400 and I-751 combo filer and local office in SF. According to her, when she went to her N-400 interview, the officer just noticed her I-751 is still pending and denied her N-400 interview and told her that her I-751 needs to be approved first before taking the N-400 interview. Then in two weeks, she received an I-751 interview notice. She and her husband went to the interview and the officer also did the N-400 interview during the I-751 interview and she got the approval recommendation for her N-400. So right now, I just need to wait again for another interview notice, which I guess might be an I-751 interview notice. Anyway, just want to share will all the SF filers and will keep you posted if there is any update. If you also receive a letter descheduling your interview, don't panic, you are not the only one.

I had my N-400 interview last April 30th, and my I-751 was still pending too. I had no problems at all, and I did the interview for my naturalization. They approved it and left my i-751 pending. The approval for this case came through one week later without doing further interviews. Certainly, I have to wait for my i-751 to be completed to get my oath ceremony letter, but they did not backed me off for not having the I-751 previously resolved. It is weird, they must have changed their procedures recently

Thanks for sharing your experience. The local office always have their own policy and can change it when they want to. did you get your oath done yet?

I did not yet. I have my oath ceremony next June 7th...One more week to go

On another note, I already scheduled an appointment to San Francisco Passport Agency to apply for my passport the following day after swearing in. I have read there is a huge line after the event at the Paramount theatre. In addition, I have to expedite my passport´s issuance because I am planning on traveling abroad by mid June, and I rather do it in person at an agency.

Yeah, I also noticed it. The data of the first quarter of 2018 should be published soon (https://www.uscis.gov/tools/reports-studies/immigration-forms-data/data-set-form-n-400-application-naturalization, I don't know why it's shifted of a quarter, their 1st quarter 2018 is from October to December 2017). Last year it was published on June 8th, but even publishing the stats seems to be slowed down of a few weeks...

The data should give us more information on processing times in San Francisco.

I don't know if you guys have taken a look at the January 2018 filers thread:

Someone in SF reported finishing the whole process in 2 months and 10 days:

Although that person applied online, I don't think they process the applications in the order they receive them like advertised. It's either very buggy or very random.

I applied online 7 months ago and haven't heard of anything since my biometrics.

My expected completion time is 13 months. Did anyone go to the SF field office on 444 Washington Street? I have an info pass appointment on this Friday. My question is can I bring my cell phone and my purse? Is there a place to store our personal items?

What about the office on 250 Broadway? Can we bring our phones and personal items? Thanks!
