It went well, the guy was very nice. It was fast. My appointment was 8:05 a.m. and I was back at my office on California St., by 9:00 a.m.  ihad to write a sentence in English and write a sentence in English. I found that amusing since I was born and raised in England. I got the civics questions, what is Freedom of Religion, name a state that borders Canada, how many senators are there, when do men have to sign up for selective service, when was the constitution written and what ocean is on the East Coast. 

 

It took longer to go through my application because I have been here 25 years. He was asking me about my original greencard application, wayyyyy back. Wasn’t expecting that. But, overall it was fast and he said, he would recommend me for approval and I should get oath ceremony date in 2-4 weeks. I am just glad its over and the last time I have to go to an immigration office, or interview.

N-400 Timeline San Francisco field office (Marriage with an US citizen and 3 year of LPR):

08/15/2017 (day 000): N-400 application was filed online on ELIS

08/22/2017 (day 007): Biometrics appointment was scheduled for 9/8/2017 

08/28/2017 (day 013): Early walk-in biometrics was completed

01/03/2018 (day 141): Interview appointment was scheduled for 2/6/2018

02/06/2018 (day 175): Interview was completed and the case was recommended for approval

02/12/2018 (day 181): Oath ceremony was scheduled for 3/15/2018

03/15/2018 (day 214): Oath ceremony was competed and I am an US citizen!

Really up to you.  I wore nice jeans and a dress shirt.  I saw people from very formal to casual.
