I am a National from Brazil but I can't imagine my life outside of the U.S.When I go to Brazil usually I stay 7 days, and  after 5 days I am ready to come home. I have one Brazilian friend here. My friends are from the  U.S, Phillipines, Turkey,  Ukraine, Morocco and India. We get together often to drink champagne, have some hooka and laugh  all night long.

Meet people from other Nationalities. Immerse yourself in American culture and soon you will love this Country. I love the U.S much more than I love Brazil.

www.meetup.com is a  great site to meet people.

What part of California do you live?   Some cities have filipino stores and communities that you can connect.  Maybe you can start planning a trip back to the the Phils - after your greencard arrives :)

Echoing the recommendations to find Filipino grocery stores/etc., or a Filipino community of people. While my husband is from Sweden, his parents are Filipino and that's the culture he grew up with in his household. When we found a Filipino store nearby that carried all sorts of Filipino stuff you don't see anywhere else, he was SO EXCITED. I can tell when he's feeling a little homesick or needs a pick me up, because he'll start talking about the place and hinting at wanting to go :P Those sort of things help. The familiarity of nostalgic things - even if it's just food - can be such a wild comfort.

Håll ut, y'all.

Agree with the idea to seek out an Asian store and Filipino restaurants, my wife met many Filipina in both places, as Filipinos once you meet, the opportunities to bond become much greater.

I need advice here😭

I really feel lonely here now

I feel what you are going through, have been in the same position the last months. I knew a lot off people already , do volunteerwork, have a lot to do in and outside the house but i miss my country/ familie/friends/work. It is a big change in culture.

What you can do is make an account on Vina, finding girlfriends online in your area. Haven’t tried it myself but have heard good things about it.

I never enjoyed cooking that much but it gives me something to do and I cook meals from my homecountry, playing music you like and so on. Every evening I write down a planning on what to do the next day. Make plans! And yes, plan a trip to you homecountry for yourself or together. It will do you good to be back home for a bit. It gave me my energy back.
