Called the Montréal Consulate...

I am beside myself right now, completely falling apart.

I called the Consulate was quickly told that my fiancé was on a waiting list and they refused to speculate when he'd get an interview. I asked what the actual date was that they had him down in the system for.

March 2nd.

THEY GOT HIS FILE IN NOVEMBER, for crying out loud! It's been almost 5 months since NOA2, and it's been almost 8 months since NOA1. This isn't f*cking right. They either never sent out Packet 3 TWICE, or Canada Post f*cked up twice, we lost 2 months there, then my fiancé insisted that he knew how this process went and shushed me every time I advised him something about the process, only to find out a month after he sent off the DS-230 that he never sent the damn checklist, so we lost another month.

I lost my job last week, I have mental issues the way it is, and this is all pushing me closer and closer to getting committed into the psychiatric hospital.

Sorry that your frustration continues to mount. At least you know that regardless of what they say when you call, you are considered in as of March 2 - so worst comes to worst and you get a May or June interview. Take the time to plot revenge on your guy, lol. (kidding people!!!)

Montreal is ticking me off too. They were so quick to book my first appointment but now it's almost taken 6 months for them to re-book one for me. My little guy is going to be 6 months in a month and still no interview.

I agree. We've all had our mental moments about this process but I have to say I agree with the part bolded in the above post. We've been there and we *can* smile and joke about the process. I am not trying to make light of how this is affecting you...not at all. It CAN make you mental. But, just to let you know...this is the easy step. AOS is not that easy when it comes to waiting. If this is making you this miserable now, I can't imagine how it will be when you and Réjean file for AOS. The thing that gets us through this step is being together as we wait (9 months and counting) for his green card. I do wish I could say the right words to ease this for you...because we all understand what you're feeling. This is one of those times we could all use a group hug, yanno? *hugs* Hope you hear something soon dear. (F)

My Dad and I joke about it all the time. Makes it a bit easier I guess!

How is AOS harder? I believe you totally (!) but am just wondering. Right now I'm not too worried about that part yet. The main thing we want is to be together and I know AOS is a lot more paperwork, etc., etc. but at least we will be together during that part of the process.

My husband and I filed AOS in July 2006. We are still waiting...and it seems we're in that dreaded name check black hole. Other Cdn couples have flown by us with approvals in a month in some cases while there are others of us who continue to wait. We have been waiting 9 months for his name check to be complete. That, for us, is the hard part of AOS. Being together during this has REALLY helped. But we have already been denied by one mortgage lender because my husband doesn't physically have his green card in hand, never mind that it's pending and he's here legally. *sigh* Oh I know I sound like a gripe...and I don't really mean to. It's frustrating though and yes I know we're not the only ones waiting. I was pointing out that if one has such a hard time with the K1 process, the AOS process might not be much easier, especially if the foreign spouse falls into the blackhole called Name Check. Meh, I know his card will get here eventually...but we are looking at having to pay another $180 for EAD renewal, plus biometrics again. *BIG SIGH*

AOS is going to be a heck of a lot easier because we're going to be together. That's what's killing me. Not being able to be with him.
