AP and Passaport Name

Hey everybody! This forum has always been a great help for my AOS process and I have a question that I can't find the answer online. I'm wondering if when I travel with my AP (which I hope might come within a couple of months) there will be any issue if I'm traveling with passport holding my maiden name. If so, do you guys think it's better I update my passport here in the U.S.?

 

Just to make it clear, I got married in the U.S. but my passport still holds my maiden name.

 

Anyways, hope you guys can help me! I just wanna make sure there's no hassle in leaving and coming back to the country. =)

Bring your marriage certificate as proof of name change. The ticket and passport need to be in the same name though, which would be your maiden name.

It's always better to get a new passport in your married name of course, but not necessary for travelling right now. However, your life will be a lot easier with a passport in your real, legal name.

Oh that's great, thank you Scandi! I have time to update my passport now, so you think it should be better do it now since I have time for it?
