Hello everyone! So we just got an update on our case on August 15, 2017, after waiting a year and 4 months which is really frustrating. The RFE was mailed and now we’re waiting to get the letter and see what’s going on. Can anyone tell me their experience on waiting period for RFE respond?

Thank you all!

Sorry to hear that you have waited that long to get an update on your case.

Once you have provided what they want from you, you can get an update in as early as 10 business days from the date that they got your response to the RFE.

Best of luck. I hope whatever they want from you guys is not hard to comply with.

I can only imagine. :( So sorry to hear about this.

After this, you still have a long way to go but to know that you have accomplished something and got over one step in the process is already a big improvement.

Hoping for the best. :)

Wow! That's crazy!

we waited almost 7 months to be issued our RFE and we thought that was a long time! We are still waiting for our NOA2! It's been 5 weeks tomorrow since they received all of our additional documents!

Good luck!!

I agree with the above. 4 months is NOT frustrating (for most people)! We waited 7 months before we got an RFE, so you're already ahead of the game!

Either way, it's consulate / embassy dependent and also depends on what evidence is required, etc... lots of factors. In my case it only delayed processing by about 2 weeks total before approval notice was received, but as you can see from the above, it can take longer.

I wish it was 4 moths! You misundestood. It was 1 year and 4 moths till we got our RFE! And yes! it is very frustrating cuz both of our lives are paused all this! Is it a consulate or embassy depedent? I thought it was still USCIS dependent. Our case should be approved first and then only it would be transfered to the embassy.
