AP in Seoul (K1 Visa)

My fiancee had her interview at the US Embassy in Seoul on August 8th. At the end of the interview, she was told that her visa was approved and it, along with her passport, would be mailed to her within 5 days. It has now been 2 weeks and she hasn't received anything yet. On CEAC, it says the application is under administrative processing (AP). At first, I thought this was normal as that's what I had read on prior posts. However it seems that most people were in AP shortly before their visa was approved. Has anyone else had a similar experience where they were told that the visa was approved but were then in AP for a prolonged period of time? Any thoughts as to why this has happened?

Any input would be much appreciated.

Everyone goes through AP. Only difference is the length of the AP for each person, which differs greatly. They are probably still doing some checks. Once it changes to Non-Immigrant - Administrative Processing, that would mean they are probably printing her visa and getting it ready before changing the status to Issued.

For my I-129F, K-1, AOS, EAD, AP and ROC detailed timelines, please refer to my timeline page :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.

Thanks for the reply. When I search with the case number on CEAC I have to do it through Immigrant Visa but then when the status comes up, it comes up as Non-Immigrant Visa Application and below it is Administrative Processing. I really hope you're right but has been like this for a week.

Yes, for K-1 we do track under the Immigrant Visa tab. K-1 will have two AP statuses, one Immigrant and the other is Non-Immigrant. If she is worried, perhaps she can call the embassy to check. However, usually when an application is under AP, the embassy will most likely not say anything other than to just wait for further update on the tracker.

Thanks for your help. My fiancee's visa was actually approved yesterday and she received her passport and the visa the same day!
