Hi all,

On 7-18 my husband's green card was approved. We received the welcome letter, however... On 8-1, the card was undeliverable due to that we were forwarding our mail to our summer internship address. We canceled the forwarding, had the post office hold our mail and are back at our address. Thus the green card will be deliverable once it is sent. We also opened a service request, and it was accepted on 8/14, but we have not heard a word since. My husband recently received a great job offer, BUT we need the green card in order for him to start work. We called the service number today, and they said we could try to get his passport stamped with I-551. Our service center in Charlotte, NC has no available info pass appointments, and our only option seems to be to try walking in and asking. Has anyone dealt with anything similar such as walk-ins, and/or the I-551 stamp?

Thank you so much in advance!

I don't think you'd have any luck with a walk-in. The service centers are usually crazy busy.  USCIS messed up my GC delivery and I had to go in for a biometrics appointment.  Even with an appointment I had to wait over an hour. I also had to set up a new appointment that day JUST to get my passport stamped since no one could do it on that day...

I heard people saying new infopass appointments become available right after midnight every day. Have you guys tried checking appointments at those hours? I also heard when people cancel appointments, those slots also become available during the day. So even if you make one appointment, keep checking if anything else becomes available sooner.
