Visa in administrative processing

I had my interview at the US embassy on Friday 18th, I got approved for the visa there and they said it would be about a week. I've been checking my visa status and it says it is in administrative processing, most cases are sorted within 60 days. Is this normal? Or should I expect my visa to take longer than a week? 

 

My classes have already started and I am already missing out on a lot so worried it will be longer!

Every case goes through AP. Usually days, sometimes weeks, rarely months, and very rarely years. If they said you were approved and took your passport, then you just need to wait. Likely not too long (but no guarantees ever with immigration).

AP is required for all cases. sometimes it takes hours, days, weeks or maybe months.
