I officially reached the 90 days mark and no words on my EAD. I am going to start the expediting process. What number do I call? I cannot find any USCIS website about this entire process. Help!

Have you heard anything from them? Did the expedite work?

I have reached 95 days and no sign of EAD. I am loosing hope of getting it without expedition.  i am getting few emails from recruiters about jobs but i am not replying since i dont have EAD. Should i go to interviews without EAD and then after the interview tell the company that i dont have EAD? Will they even interview me without EAD? Or should i just expedite and send the job positions emails as proof?

I did get my EAD (see signature) but I don't think it had anything to do with the expedite process. I never got a reply....

USCIS won't expedite without a signed job offer from the company employing you.

You can definitely interview without having your EAD and explain to the hiring company that if successful, can they supply with with a signed offer letter and you will initiate the process ASAP.

I did this and was successfully hired and got my EAD within a few weeks. Good luck!! :)

USCIS won't contact the employer :)

All USCIS will ask for (after you have initiated the expedite process) is for you to fax the letter of offer (on company letterhead, and signed by the company).

So all you need to do, is call USCIS and give them your case number, ask to expedite the process based on financial hardship and mention you have an active job offer. They will say it takes 5 days to action and you'll get an email. (My email never arrived, so if you don't get it, call back in 5 days and get the reference numbers you'll need, lol)

Then you fax back a copy of their correspondence and the job offer. No contact with employer.

They usually update case within a week at that point and issue the EAD

Hello,I am trying to expedite my ead too,do i have to tell my employer that i am sending the job offer to uscis for expedite so he can state in the job offer that he knows i dont have my ead yet that he still willing to employ me even without it.....or i just need my employer to give me a basic job offer letter....pls respond

@lemonsharon No I never got the email. I called back after about a week and spoke to a Tier 1 rep. She told me to write a cover letter, to include the Team Name and Case Numbers (which she supplied). So my cover letter was the front page, contained the infiormation she gave me, and then a short note explaining that the email was note received and this cover letter was for Case # xxxxxxxxxxx and I was requesting expedite.

@spike198 No you don't need a Tier 2 rep. It's lodged with a Tier 1 :)

I wonder if I can fax them as well without the letter. I need to speed the process asap. They said that they sent the letter on Monday but it hasn't arrived yet.

If you already have the Team and Division numbers, don't wait for their official letter. Mine never arrived.

Write a coverletter (I put a template below, I wrote this exact cover letter for my expedite)
Sign the cover letter and attach your signed job offer.
Fax it to the number they gave you.

So you call level 1 and explain that you have a job offer and they give you a number to fax a cover letter along with your job offer to? My case has only been active for 60 days but with a job offer can I still request a expedite?

Call 800-375-5283 and ask for a status update on your case and after that get to options where you can "report a problem". That's when you get connected to a customer rep. He will ask you a bunch of questions and then he'll ask you how he can help you and you tell him that you want to expedite your case. You then have to choose one of the expedite criteria's and the most common one is under "severe financial loss".

I have seen people send requests while there case has only been active about 30 days or even only a couple of days.

You can try to expedite with a job offer but since the number of requests have increased it might get a little more difficult. In a cover letter you should explain why it is a several financial loss to you if you lose this job.

At the end it is at the discretion of the immigration officer.

Good luck!

Hi,

I am planning to apply for my EAD expedite since I am waiting for approval from past 85 days. I heard that this year they changed the expedite process and needs strong financial loss document from employer to get approved for expedite. I really appreciate if you could help me on this.

Thanks in advance.

@Dhananjay Patil - my expedite process was in 2017, 2 years ago now :) *if* the requirements have changed, then the only people who can answer your question about what you need are USCIS - I would call 1-800 375 5283 and ask what documents they need to expedite. If it's still just the employment letter, then follow the previous steps I mentioned :)

Hi Guys,

I got my EAD card expedited today and thought of sharing my experience.

I had received my EAD card in Sep2018 and I had lost it in my house moving.I received job from  employer in March 2019  and joined on the basis of receipt notice of replacement for EAD card (filed in April 2019). This allows me to work for 90-days with my employer after doing i-9 verification. This 90-days is getting over on 7th aug 2019. I tried to expedite the process under sever financial loss.I requested expedition through national benefit center call center. They created SR number for me. After 2 weeks (Jun27th) I received an email from USCIS asking for supporting document proving financial loss.

I faxed them the below documents on july 1st

1. My Employment letter showing proof of income and start date of my employment

2. Letter from my employer asking for I-9 verification with date by which I-9 needs to be performed or they can put me on loss of pay

3. Email from USCIS asking for proof

4. Receipt notice for my i765 application

5. Offer letter from my employer. With highlight on I-9 verification

6. Cover letter explaining situation and how I will loss the salary/job if I-9 verification is not performed

After this I just waited for weeks and today I received status message on my case as New Card is being issued.Waiting for my card.
