I have been done for many years but my wifes Niece and a friend here are getting serious. What is the poverty limit now and how much does one need to earn for a K1 now and do they accept a cosponsor for a K1 if one does not make enough nowadays? Thanks for any info.

This is the current poverty guideline: https://www.uscis.gov/i-864p. Whether a co-sponsor is allowed or not, it is embassy specific. Of course at the K-1 stage, the sponsor only needs to meet the 100% whilst AOS requires 125%.

For my I-129F, K-1, AOS, EAD, AP and ROC detailed timelines, please refer to my timeline page :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.

To clarify. I need to know if the citizen makes enough income to not need a cosponsor. As I remember it when I went through a cosponsor was not permitted if going the K-1 route. Is this still true?

Co-sponsors tend to be frowned upon in some Asian countries for the K1 (they are accepted for the CR-1 spousal visa).  But there are some that have been approved, especially where the petitioner had good job prospects-0 for example, was about to graduate college- and/ or the co-sponsor was a close relative.
