One gun can kill more than 100 people. If the 6 million people used a phalanx battle formation, maybe they could overcome the SS.

Or just maybe...they could have taken a more peaceful approach, such as calming the SS with the lift of an eyebrow, perhaps even muddling the tongues of their enemies simply by uttering the word ' Boink ' , or better yet, just shoot rubber bands at their butts and actually get away with it... a highly skilled technique for getting back at those thumbsuckers.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

I think what you are describing is the western world, especially Europe. Very few people nowadays would put their life on the line to save others.

History is filled with times when people have failed put their life on the line to save others. What's different about nowadays? nothing.

Still a fitting quote.... Sad to see people just give up hope. I think Slim is on to something.

"All that is necessary for evil to succeed is that good men do nothing."

-Edmund Burke

What is he onto? That macho cliches and "should have done" rhetoric can save the world?

Were the Jews fighting back in the Warsaw ghetto 'macho'? They had no hope but still fought back. I would rather go down fighting than with my face against the wall. Is that 'macho' or a survival instinct.

Im not a coward,

Ive just never been tested

Id like to think that if I was,

I would pass

What's macho is the apparent perception in the OP post that somehow people today are 'less brave' that previous generations. That is complete $hit.

I can say how I'd like to behave in such a situation - it might make me feel good to do so, but I don't think you can claim with any certainty what you would do. So I'm not sure how useful it is to generalise about a person's bravery or lack thereof in hindsight of a harrowing and traumatic event like the shooting the other day, or indeed the Holocaust. Its easy to make high sounding generalisations about such things when you have no direct investment in the event itself or the outcome.

That's why I raised eyebrows the other day at the folks on Fox who criticised the British sailors for not "fighting back" against a far superior force. Somehow I think if O'Reilly's political pundits had a bunch of machine guns shoved under their noses - they'd be more worried about the state of their pants than going down in a "blaze of glory".

Saying 'y'all' is racist? Or indicative of an ethnic group? Ever traveled to the South? I mean, the South is sort of like an ethnic group, except for how it's not, but I can see how you might think that if you left your brain at home.

Alex is no southern gal.. I have never ever heard her say anything in a southern tone. She was clearly patronizing kaydee457..

Lots of people use y'all on the internet (and irl) who aren't southern; lots of people on the internet who are Southern don't type in their dialect. She's not typing with a Brooklyn accent, either, or a particularly grad student one. I switch codes all the time, so.... look, you gotta beef with Alex, that's fine, but this isn't racism or being patronizing...

sure. Yet apparently Alex has no problem pointing other people's grammar / spelling mistakes. It was more a ###### stir rather than being offended..

Infidel.. Y'all is not a grammar or spelling mistake, is an accepted word.. it's not even slang.. even I say y'all, an adopted southerner lol.. so correcting others spelling and/or grammar, doesn't mean you can't use y'all..

============

but.. thing is.. why not a tighter gun control? I mean, this guy got guns in a legal way.. after a police report.. if he was already considered 'mentally whatever' or 'violent' or all those things, why he could get a gun? that means any psycho who is a resident, and 500 bucks can buy a gun.. don't we need a tighter control so only capable people can own guns.. yeah, now the thing is to define capable.. lol..

Kaydee.. I didn't know there were Americans that still thought Vietnam could have been 'Won'.. actually you're the first one..

Well, I am organic.
