Does anyone know why the current processing times provided by the USCIS on egov.uscis.gov were last updated as of Jun 30th? Are they not updated on the 15th of every month? Where is July and now August's update?

Also the processing time i-130 appears to sometimes go backwards why would that be?

And how does it make sense for permanent residences to get a faster processing time than US Citizens?

Thanks for the help in advance guys!

Many times months go by without an update - it's more common than not.

Many ppl have observed and reported this. One speculation is to get less service requests from applicants that are outside of processing time.

Not sure what you mean by that. What processing?

currently, it is taking about average  6-7 months with TSC USCIS for  I-130 approval.

I just meant that often times the permanent resident applying for a spouse has a better processing date than a US Citizen applying for a spouse at the same location.

For what applications? i-130? Cause an LPR has to wait for the PD to become current, which makes their processing time much longer... again not sure what you mean.

See attached… A permanent resident has a current processing time of Dec. '16 Whereas a US Citizen is only as of Nov '16. for i-130 IRs

That date only reflects how mny ppl applied for the i130 under that category pretty much. After that an LPR spouse has to wait for a visa to become available  (wait for the PD - for the i485) before moving forward. Whereas for the spouse of a USC a visa is immidiately available and the i485 (if filed simultaneously) is processed with the i130 and an interview will be scheduled. The process is much longer for the LPR spouse.

The I-130 is just the first step. Although it may or may not be faster for the petition of an LPR spouse to be approved, they still have to wait for the PD (priority date) to be current. Even if their petition is approved in one month, they just wait longer at the NVC for the PD to become current whereas spouses of USCs don't wait at all at the NVC

Don't confuse petition processing times with total time taken to receive a visa.

The reason the service center dates are behind is because they report the date of the oldest petition they are currently working. So it's possible someone from November last year has a complex case that is still being worked. The reason it can go backwards is because someone may have had an RFE and their petition had been put on hold but now they have responded to the RFE so the petition is being worked again.

Is this new? Cause that certainly wasn't the case earlier this year when I was going through AOS.

I don't know, I've never done AOS. But when we did the I-130 through USCIS last year, I remember that this was reported because people were asking why petitions didn't seem to be approved in date order. For example, we filed in February but were not approved until July. People who filed after us were approved before us and the processing times posted by USCIS showed November and December dates but people from March were being approved. We were told that this just means that someone, somewhere in the office is still working a November or December file even though the rest of the service center may be working on March files. We know that ours went through more extensive background checks (evidence of which I saw at the interview also) as my husband (USC petitioner) has a criminal record and they needed to be sure he didn't pose a danger to my safety.

I always like the grocery store analogy. Think of the USCIS clerks as grocery store clerks and our petitions as customers and carts. Some clerks scan and pack quicker than others because they've been there so long. Some clerks are new and still getting used to the register and other equipment. Clerks become sick and can't work. Clerks go on lunch breaks and vacations or leave to have a baby. Some customers are processed quickly as they only have a few items in their cart, have their payment ready. Some have questions. Some have forgotten their wallets and so the clerk has to leave their items to one side while the customer fetches some money or their ID to purchase alcohol. Some have complicated cases - fragile items that need a lot of packing. Some have hundreds of items in the cart. Some items won't scan and the clerk has never seen them before so must call a supervisor for advice (we've all been there at the store with a new cashier who doesn't know what an artichoke is or something like that).

They are just not updating processing information. That's why it shows old information. They are not putting the "oldest" they are working on. We had our case be behind the actual date posted, and that is also true for many.

This is naturally how it works though - only the cashiers don't work on one customer at a time and when they are put on hold they remain in line with the same cashier and not a new one, which creates tons of further variations in processing times.

I don't know. I never really paid too much attention to processing times. I just knew that mine would be approved when our gods saw that it was the right time and that it was completely out of my control. It was our fate. I wished, at the time, it could have been quicker but in the end everything worked out perfectly and the timescale was just right for our personal circumstances and what was going on with various things at the time. If I had been approved any quicker, I couldn't have moved here any sooner.

Everything is in Gods timing as he knows best. I've been waiting to hear something since Nov 2016 and today finally see "Case Status Change" even though I don't know what that means, at least I see something..
