It's also interesting to note that back in the days of slavery, the demorats were the ones who more primarily involved in maintaining it as a practice.  But I am probably wrong for reminding us of that little factoid, eh?

The left can't get over the fact that the civil war wasn't even about slavery until Lincoln made it about slavery in the middle of the war for political reasons. You do know that only 2% of the South owned slaves right? You are also aware that many African Americans CHOSE to fight in the Confederate army right? The left loves to revise history to fit their social justice warrior agenda. That is why they are tearing down statues that have been around for over 100 years. You don't have to like people from the Confederate army to accept they are part of our history and their statues are part of our history. At the very least if you want statues removed do it the legal way instead of just vandalizing them.

You are correct. The democratic party was involved in maintaining the status quo of the time, and through the years they morphed into the GOP. And still, the south lost the war.

Btw welcome back, was wondering where you were.

There was a thread a few weeks ago and the subject of different healthcare types came up and I gave some examples of socialized healthcare. Unfortunately one of the examples was my sister and due to being released from hospital too soon to free up the bed and poor aftercare she eventually didn't make it. It was a really hard few weeks and we buried he just over a week ago. When I made my post back then I didn't realize her life was at risk but a few days later the doctors gave us news that she would not make it. I looked in on the the forums but was too angry to post and maybe I would have got myself a ban if I got involved in too hot of a topic.

Life goes on.

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."
