Yep you tried.

The inherent problem for anyone arguing with the right is that one is often faced with countering an argument that comes from a position of complete nonsense. It's not an easy thing to do. Often it doesn't matter how one chooses to go about doing that, the end result remains nonsense, and the right has the benefit of being in their element. Alas, sometimes all we can do is try.

I see from the amount of gun hating individuals.....even on this forum....it is such a relief that Trump won and appointed a sumpreme court judge that will uphold the constitution.

Imagine the gun hating nut job that Hillary would have appointed.

I'm not a gun hating individual. What I do hate is people regardless of their mental or physical health can walk into a gun show and just buy a gun with ease.

What I also hate is how anyone can buy a gun but has had no training in how to store and use the weapon in a responsible manner.

What I hate is how an individual can go out and buy automatic weapons which will kill a serious amount of people in a few seconds and cause carnage.

As much as the right don't want to admit it, gun violence in this country is a serious problem.

and? Ever heard of the NSA? It's tricky because there has to be a careful balance between freedom and surveillance. But to say you have more "freedom" in the USA say compared to the UK is nonsense.

I believe that a lot of Americans don't realize how the government rule their lives. It starts from a very young age; I see it at the schools my kids have attended and now are attending. The amount of information you have to provide is insane. And I refuse to fill out the race* question...why does that matter?? And you're not allowed to put your kids on a school if it's not in your district. How is that freedom of choice?

*Husband explained the race question, I still think it's BS*

What's the correlation between providing information to a public school and government ruling your life?

Interesting question. I'm sure a rational leftist can explain.

It would be better to have a rational rightist explain it.

The inherent problem for you is that you can't fix the discussion to fit your narrative, hence the tantrums. Best of luck next time with your try though. ^_^

I would like to know where one can buy automatic guns with ease?

semi automatics are available....but not automatics.  Many people interchange the two intentionally...for nefarious reasons. Some people just don't know the difference.

people also do this with illegal and legal immigrants......mostly dishonest people.

"Not a gun hating individual"

1st line -  not sure what physical health has to do with things - but see this for answers on mental health

2nd line - other gun owners are more than happy to help out with training and advice.

3rd line - only in fantasy land.

4th line - replace gun with gang and i'll agree with this line.

Aren't the public schools government owned? I don't see why a school need all the information they are asking on the forms. Same with race, why is it important for a government owned school to know what the race of my kids is?

To you that might be perfectly normal, to me as a newbie in America it's a weird question to ask. My kids have attended schools in the Netherlands too, never had to fill out so much information, neither asked for what race they are.

I see that as government interference.

As for the gun ownership. I'm glad people can own a gun. It has saved our lives, that much I can say.

But at the same time, I feel more unsafe knowing that there are people who won't hesitate to pull out their gun. I have seen a couple situations where people were shot. Still I'm glad my husband knows how to use one. I consider it as a skill and it's up to the owner wether to use it or abuse it.

Public schools.. yes, sort of.

Private schools, no.

The public schools require information because many of them offer programs for those with lower incomes to reduce the cost of things like: school fees (registration), lunches, field trips, and so on. For those people who can't afford them, more often than not the local government has funds in place to direct to assist these people. Likewise, they might be something that can affect your taxes/returns the following year. The example you gave doesn't show at all that government is running one's life.

One has the right to take their child to private school, where that information is not required. It will cost a hell of a lot more, and the low income options are roughly nil, but this also just shows that the example provided does not mean government controls our lives.

One can also homeschool their child. Where a lot less information will be required, but one will need to be on par with local curriculum to get the rightful certification/diplomas.

I would see it as government interference if we had no choice in the matter. Problem is, you have numerous choices. So.. not government interference.

My sister in law ( Republican) homeschools her kids. Reason, she doesn't want a school ( financed by the government) teach her kids things she doesn't agree with. So yes, regardless how you call it it's government interference.if you don't have the funds and you have to work your only option is public schools and voila, we are back at the mercy of the government.
