My husband and I filed for a hardship pardon for him to get his Visa. We were approved and went to our appointment in Ciudad Juarez but he tested positive for marijuana. So we were told he had to wait 6 months then resubmit his medical in order to continue the process. Then wait for instructions.

My question is, how long after we resubmit his clean medical records will we have to wait for them to respond? Weeks? Months? And once they get the medical records will they give him his Visa or do you think we will have to wait again for another appointment/interview at the consulate?

We we have waited almost the full 6 months. I'm just wondering if this will turn into way longer than that after we resubmit.

Usually Drug abuse is a one year 'ban', is he signed up for Drug Addiction treatment?

6 months seems like alot now but believe me time will fly.  Review my timeline.

Yes he will have to return for a second interview for review.  Every embassy is different. But from what I've seen it should only be a couple weeks to a couple months on average.

It would be really helpful if you complete your profile information and timeline in case you have further questions.

I know, it's strange (but I'm greatful) that he only got 6 months and was not required to do any treatment or months testing during those months.

Do you know if after those 6 months are up how long it typically takes to get his VISA?

Our 6 months is up in two weeks and I am very blessed it was only that long.

We had to wait a year to get schedualed for an interview the first time. Do you think after we resubmit his medical and they ask for a second interview it could take that long again or should the process be faster? (I was confused if you meant it should only be weeks or a few months to get his VISA or if you meant for them to schedule another interview.)

Thank you!

Again, this depend completely on embassy.

After the 6 months is over, a new medical is completed, those new medical results are sent to the embassy, the embassy sets up an interview for review, if visa is then approved, it could take anywhere from a couple weeks to a couple months for issue.  In our case, once my then fiance had his second interview he received his visa in 9 days.  That was very quick in my opinion.

I think it will be faster this second time around but no one can tell you for sure.

I meant it for both.

I was reading your timeline but I couldn't see, how long did it take for your husband to receive his second interview?

His second medical was completed 03/16/16.  Our circumstance was a bit different and they asked for it to be completed during waiver process.

Regardless his second interview was about 3 months after his new medical and only one month after waiver approval.  He had his visa within 9 days.
