Tax help please for IR1

So I'm planning to file an IR-1 for my wife. The problem is I might have tax problems but I'm not sure.

So I'm 26 years old. Been living in the Philippines since I was 15. Only going to the US for a couple months at a time every other year or so. Never had a job in the US. Been pretty much dependent on my father up until 2015. My wife has a cafe here locally in the Philippines which is basically where our income comes from. I did have a mineral water business which made less than $1,000 a month and I paid taxes on it from 2015-2016 here to the Philippine government (BIR). 

 

So I talked with an attorney the other day and he said that I need to fix my taxes through him which he'd do through some amnesty program. But do I need to do that as I've had little to no income. 

Any help would be appreciated.

You should indeed clean up your tax situation first because even though you might have earned small amounts of income, it should have been reported on a tax return. As a U.S. citizen/resident, you are required to report worldwide income even while abroad.
