What is the strangest, or grossest food you have encountered in your significant other's country?

What food or plate does your significant-other find odd, or strangely satisfying when he/she moved here?

 

For me, in Nicaragua there is a place where they serve cheese with tiny rice-sized maggots in it...AND PEOPLE EAT IT...AND LIKE IT! fdjsakiwengfdsai nope nope nope nope! I'll only eat that if I'm desperate...or you pay me. They also eat iguana, turtle eggs, and even horse meat if you aren't paying attention to what you're buying. Pretty much if it has feet, it's food!

 

When my husband came he was very impressed with the "sausage covered breads" (corndogs lol) and he also took to our regional dish "tater tot hotdish" quite well. He's easy to please and isn't too picky. We haven't come across any "weird foods" for him yet

Sheep brain on Eid Al Adha/day of sacrifice. It was cooked in some kind of tomato sauce with spices, so it didn't really have a bad flavor, but the texture was another story...

 

My husband thinks that most American foods are either too sweet or too salty lol. He has taken a liking to pasta with various kinds of sauces though. However, he does not trust boxed macaroni and cheese, the kind with the powered cheese like Kraft. He thinks I'll get sick if I eat it haha 

 

He does a lot of cooking at home, and I get to eat Moroccan food (but not sheep brain ) almost every day.
