AOS, EAD, AP and Passport and Originals

Hey there all, I am going to be sending out my AOS, EAD, AP package this weekend and I was hoping for a few hints from you all that have gone through it.

I have read all the guides and I am all set, I just wondered if anyone here has a checklist for AOS, EAD< AP that they used to make sure they had all their documentation? All the nitty gritty.

Also, I have noticed some people saying they sent in their marriage certificate, but I thought you only sent copies of everything and then took the originals with you to your interview.

Which is it? I can't imagine sending the original of my marriage certificate.

And another question, how long must your passport be valid for from the date of your interview? Mine doesn't expire until next March 2007, but I wasn't planning on renewing it till after it expired. That way I don't have to send it back to Canada. If it's expired I can just keep my old one and apply for a new one.

So, AOS, EAD, AP checklist? Orginial vs copy? and Passport expiration at AOS interview??

Thanks folks!!! I swear I'll stop posting in about 10 days!! :)

I can answer your marriage certificate question. You don't need to mail your original marriage certificate... a photo copy is sufficient. Like you said, you will take original when you go to an interview.

Good luck!

If you go to the main page on VJ you will see the list of options, click on GUIDES , this will show you a checklist for each application form you are filing , and as said before DO NOT SEND ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS with your package.

Cant help with the passport question but im sure the learned people in here will know the answers.
