The prius gas a pedestrian detection system which would have applied the brakes had it sensed a pedestrian.

Just saying

Volvo says it is impossible to hit a pedestrian with one of their newest vehicles and has a target of zero deaths in a Volvo by ? 2020?

The braking systems can only slow you down so much. You step in front of a car going 60 mph nothing is gonna save you.

Best places to test: China and Russia, where people throw themselves in front of vehicles to scam the drivers insurance company.

Looks like Allah wins again.

How embarrassing for the Nazis. And disappointing for their biggest fanboy, the so-called president.

In all seriousness though, it's a sick world. My thoughts are on the victims of both tragedies.

These attacks are honestly not that uncommon throughout the Muslim world. I can only wonder how many more attacks like this have to happen in the western world for the left to start applying the same no-nonsense scrutiny (and aggressively trying to root out extremism) toward Islam that they rightfully did toward Christianity.

There is no compromise with extremism. And it's been proven that we can't rely on "moderate" Muslims, they're little to no help.

I think that last part is wrong. There are plenty of secular, moderate Muslims who just want to live normal, daily lives, pray a bit here and there and get rid of the scourge that is Islamic orthodoxy. Unfortunately they're often silenced. British former Islamist extremist Maajid Nawaz is one of the people who changed my mind about this. His book Radical was excellent. Unfortunately, many of the left's ideal 'moderate Muslims' are religious ultraconservatives who don't like violence, but have no problem trying to insert religious orthodoxy into mainstream society either.

What a lot of folks on the left like to do is to take the Pat Buchanan religious types and pass them off as 'moderate' because they don't promote violence but still fit the picture of different enough to be diverse. That's how you end up with liberals applauding sharia apologist, hijab-wielding women like Linda Sarsour as symbols of feminism.

Unfortunately, you rarely ever see true moderate/secularists in mainstream media here in the U.S.

Especially after the Southern Poverty Law Center labeled Maajid Nawaz an islamophobic "Anti-Muslim Extremist."

The only time in the Muslim world I see any uprisings it's at the behest of terrorist organizations like MB, Taliban, ISIS, and other related groups. I'm not seeing much hope yet from the Muslim world that they have any true desire for secularism. I'm sure all those years of interference by competing interests haven't helped. Nonetheless the Islamic world is a culture stuck in the 1700s while time traveled to 2017. I don't think they should be forcefully coaxed into changing their ways but the western world has to double down on the long standing successful secularist demands of our own countries because the base thing to do by catering to these people extensively is to turn a secularist country into an Islamic caliphate. The left seems to forget in their placating of Muslims the force and fighting required just to get out of Christian rule. Christians of yore would have considered this attitude by the left today handing things over on a silver platter.

More people like this need a voice. It's clear though the left only uses superficial aspects of humanity to play up their image of advocating rights and tolerance, but its clear by their violent approach to different viewpoints they're the worst people to be looking at as rolemodels for diversity.

They are busy defending themselves. Being attacked by the Western World for not doing enough, and attacked from the other side by extremists. I can guarantee you that they work their ### off to stop this insanity, but there isn't much they can do.

In the Netherlands there was a young imam who publicly warned that the Dutch government doesn't acknowledge the danger of returning IS members to the Netherlands. The answer of the government: he is wrong....

He is just an example, there are many others who do the same. Moderate Muslims and secular ones, who offer information to the authorities in order to prevent attacks to happen.

One of the terrorists in Germany last year; Morocco notified and warned Germany that they had information about him that he is planning an attack. They ( Germany) simply ignored and let it happen.

Anyway, list is endless but somehow people like to ignore this facts.

That too, and I believe that in the UK they ignored warnings about the Manchester attack.
