Sorry I'm sure this has been asked and answered.  I'm just not sure what to search for.

Wife is Chinese (I'm a USC).  She is in the AOS process and will have an AP travel document.  We are contemplating a trip to Niagra Falls, Canadian side.

Does she need any sort of travel Visa to enter Canada?  Assuming she has the correct AP documents, can she visit any country as per that country's status with the US about requiring travelers to have visas or not as if she was a USC?  Does her China passport change that beside for the countries China travelers may not need a visa for?

Does going to Canada pose any potential red flags or additional interrogation, either on exit/entry or come time for the AOS interview?

I'll keep searching, but TIA for any info or direction.

With the exception of Canada and Mexico and some Caribbean islands where having a green card will exempt you from visas, and the case of transit visas only in the U.K., all other countries that I am aware of base visa requirements solely on passport and not country of residence. If a Chinese passport holder needs a visa, she will need a visa.

If she doesn't have a green card yet I'm not sure if she can visit Canada visa free, after all AOS doesn't guarantee a green card at the end of it.

You can check the CIC website for visa requirements - http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/visas.asp

As SusieQQQ mentioned, green card holders can visit Canada without a visa - an eTA is required if flying, though. Until your wife receives her green card, she'll need a visa - details at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/apply-how.asp.
