Does someone has experience with asking case to be transferred?

My case was originally routed to Nebraska and I just feel so impatient and upset as I know any Nebraska fillers feel like right now.... Anyways, my husband called USCIS and asked if its possible to have the case transferred to another place. The guy said its possible since they sent it to a place out of our jurisdiction (my husband lives in Florida) and that all we had to do is send them a letter stating we want out case to be transferred to either Texas or Vermont and that they may or not accept our request...

Does anyone have experience doing this? I might try to send it to Vermont since they're looking at cases from this year differently from Texas/Nebraska that are still stuck at 2016... Any thoughts????

We never asked for a transfer, we just waited our turn like everyone else. We waited 8 1/2 months for our NOA2. you can try but all I can tell you is just to be patient. This is only the first step you will have alot of waiting to do and there is nothing you can do to speed up the process. BTW, I am from Florida and I sent our petition to Nebraska also, short of you having family working in USCIS in a high level position you will just have to wait like the rest of us.

Good luck to you, hope all goes smooth

My husband lives in Texas and filed from there, we still got sent to Nebraska, which doesn't make sense if you ask me, considering there is a USCIS Texas.

I've known people who have called inquiring the same thing and they've been told that you can't request to be transferred, if that was the case anyone would try to send themselves to the fastest service centers which would render them... well, slow. They are the only ones that truly control their workload and distribution even if they're currently doing a sucky job, and getting expedited is hard and only granted for people with compelling reasons. I'm not saying you shouldn't try, it certainly could be a possibility but I wouldn't get my hopes up too much. My personal recommendation is try to remain calm and take it one day at a time. I know its easier said than done, but we have to be patient and do the best we can with this hell of a process. It feels like forever now, but eventually it will be over and all of it will be worth it.

Thank you for the answer guys. I'm not saying I'm not gonna wait my turn... I know it's a necessary thing and I'm well aware of how long it can take. After filling out and sending our package, we were certain it would go to Texas center since it's the one in our jurisdiction and it's supposedly the one it should go to anyways. In our call, the guy explained that if they originally sent it to the right jurisdiction you can't move it to another center but if it was sent to the wrong one you have the right to ask for it to be moved but that doesn't mean it will be moved. If they sent it to other place by mistake (and what a mistake because Nebraska seems to be the worst center) I don't want to wait even more because they did it wrong... if I have a chance to get transferred I will take it... I've seen someone talk about this in a forum but I can't seem to find it and I just wanna know if someone tried doing this? Maybe have a template of the letter sent?
